Was able to get front row seats to listen to one of my favorite travel experts, Rick Steve’s tonight. Seemed a perfect fit before I head out to Greece in five days. I loved hearing his talk about traveling as a spiritual act, to see things through his lens. I can’t wait to read my autographed book!

I have been coming to Irish Times Pub - Bastion Square, Victoria for the last 16 years when I visit Victoria, it is a must visit each time I come. In my visits over the years they have yet to disappoint. I went mid week in November 22, and loved my visit after a almost 5 years absence. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly and even let me order from the kids menu so that I wasn’t overly full since leftovers were not an option with my hotel. They have nightly music and when they started I was reminded how my spirit instantly lifts when you combine music, good drinks and mouthwatering food. Their Irish soda bread with real butter dipped in their amazing seafood chowder was a burst of flavor in the mouth. Followed with the kids version of the Shepherds Pie, fabulous. I highly recommend this as a must stop when visiting Victoria for the wonderful food, great service, and live music.

My friend and I made a reservation for tasting at Tsillan Cellars Woodinville tasting room in Woodinville and were not disappointed. The new tasting room was decorated beautifully, the staff were attentive and so friendly. The owner came around to talk with everyone and visit, not just say high as he passed. The wines were great, the food options great, and even a pop up vendor for pasta sauce was there giving samples. The environment was jubilant and relaxed. Great work on creating an elegant and inviting space for tasting your wines on the west side!

Traveling with toddlers has the best stories to tell afterwards. Imagine trying to unload the rental car with two suitcases, two carryons, two personal bags and a car seat, only to get to ticketing and find out you have to wait an hour for them to open. The ticket kiosk became her personal jukebox. Then we had a panic attack meltdown when the machine ate her Minnie backpack, (TSA security) TSA to the rescue with a badge to usher her through to retrieve her backpack, crisis averted. So yes, grandma and nugget are now sitting with preflight requirements!

In search of covered bridges in Kentucky. Found my first one today. I’m undecided how I feel about all the grafiti. I was the only one there and it was an amazing drive. Looking forward to finding a few more tomorrow.

Visited a small town full of antique shops and the Whistle Stop Diner today. I love each year I’ve come here, as if you have walked back in time to simpler times. Such fun parking and walking everywhere.

Touring the Bourbon Trail today in Kentucky. James Beam and Angels Envy were the two tour hits today of the 41 to visit. Angels Envy Rye was my favorite and the chocolate pairing was a hit! James Beam was great for the country feel and large expanse of an operation. Both great tours!
