We are starting a family owned and run VW Camper Van hire business in Welwyn Hertfordshire that will be operational for 2021.
The aim is to let as many people enjoy the sense of freedom and adventure that only a classic VW camper van can offer.
The camper vans can be hired for a week, weekend or mid week hire period.
Starting with an initial 2 vans we have a 10 year plan to let our business grow organically.
Our aim is to purchase two vans, which will be refurbished during 2020. We will take bookings from January 2021 for both vans.
Every 2 years we will aim to add another van to our fleet, we need time to grow the business alongside our other commitments. We will not take a wage from the business for the first 5 years. Any profit we make will be reinvested into the business.
Our goal is to have a fleet of 7 Classic VW Camper vans to hire by 2030 when we will have full time staff to help manage the vans and hires.
We believe that people will be looking to holiday at home for the next few years due to recent events.
What better way to explore England than in a classic VW camper.
Each camper van would be maintained to the highest possible standard with care from a VW loving family at our core.
Our long-term plan involves an apprenticeship scheme where we can offer training on restoration and repair on our historic fleet.
We have premises and a workshop secured for vans so we are all set to go.
Help on the road
We are looking for some crowd funding to get us started. Starting a VW camper van hire business is a huge investment that we are firmly committed to.
The amount that we would like to raise is ÂŁ20,000. This amount will help with the restoration of the vans to get them to an appropriate standard for the hire rental market.
We have already secured premises, a workshop, booking systems and business assets to proceed.
If we could find 4 people who would like to donate ÂŁ5,000 each then we will be able to complete the restorations without any bank loans and be debt free before we start on our journey. This we feel would give us an amazing opportunity to jump start and start up.
In return, anyone who donates to our start up will be guaranteed free use of a camper van for 2 weeks each year for the next 5 years. This would equate to over ÂŁ7,000 if you were to hire the vans over the same time period.
If we have a van available from September 2020 we will give everyone who donates and additional week so you can be the first ones to have a test drive and give us some feedback.
The vans can be gifted to family members or friends to use so this could be a great donation for all the family to benefit from.
You would have priority booking of the vans at the start of the year. You would only be able to take 1 week during the âlonger daysâ rental period each year. Otherwise the rest of the year is yours to choose from.
In order for us to move forward with the restoration we would need to secure funding before 31st August 2020.
We are looking for a maximum of 4 people to donate.
