Leanne Cotter " The Strathalbyn Cottages is everything you’ll need for a couple getaway. With clean, modern facilities, a large comfortable bed with a fireplace in the bedroom in 2a cottage. Unfortunately the weather was too warm for us to use but it would be lovely. We especially loved the freshly ground beans coffee machine, and thoughtful bread, jams, milk and toiletries provisions. Great location, close to High Street and everything within walking distance, but the back of the cottage overlooks Angas River which makes you feel like you’re away from it all. Peter checked in to ensure we were settled in, with the perfect amount of communication. Highly recommend to stay here. We will be back next time we are in Strath!"

Extremely spacious bedroom with quality linen and a fireplace for those cozy winter nights. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a very comfortable living area. Strathcottages.com celebrates our township. Here is a side street, Rankine Street which has some beautiful buildings and some great businesses including the Classic Collectable Vehicles in Brooks Garage and another across the road.

Add the Terminus Hotel to Rankine Street which has one of the best garden bars in the state. Located right on the Angas River ... perfect for that Sunday session only 400 metres down the road from Strathalbyn Cottages 👌

Big thanks to Jenny at Strathalbyn's Town & Country Menswear for guiding me into the 'right' Chino direction. Make sure you pop in and see her on your next visit, she is a local legend in my eyes.

Strathcottages.com would love to give a big shout to the Strathalbyn Racing Club.

The club held a great family fun day last Sunday 14/1. Their biggest day of the year is the Strathalbyn Cup on Sunday week 28/1.

strathcottages.com .... some of our history. That's our romantic lux accommodation perched on the Angas River bank in Strathalbyn's township centre - Fleurieu Peninsula back in 1880s.

Strathalbyn Cottages was originally built by David Stoddart in 1855-60 as the family home and named 'Laurel Hill'. It is one the first stone homes built in Strathalbyn.

Somewhere along the path of time the original name was lost until recently. The property was re-developed in 2015 into 3 cottages. The property was again re-developed and refurbished in 2022-23 and renamed Strathalbyn Cottages.

The 2x Cottages utilize parts of the old 'Laurel Hill' building and are suitable for guests looking for a lux, very private, clean and modern option for a comfortable getaway suitable for making great memories.

The original B/W photo/image shows 'Laurel Hill'(white) to the right/middle of the image in the mid/late 1880s. Our other images show how it is today, ready for you to explore beautiful Strathalbyn and the wonderful Fleurieu Peninsula.
