BREAKING NEWS- Starting October 30th, Disney is introducing a new option called Lightning Lane Premier Pass that will allow one-time entrance all of Lightning Lane attractions within a park without having to set a time; just walk up and go in. This comes at a higher price than the regular Lightning Lane multi-pass system and is initially only available to guests of the Disney Deluxe resorts, Swan and Dolphin hotels, or Shades of Green resort. Initially, it will be for a single park each day and does not have an option for park hopping. Disneyland is also getting Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

Hurricane Milton Update - Walt Disney World Theme Parks Closures

On Wednesday, October 9, our theme parks and Disney Springs will be closed in phases beginning at 1:00 PM.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park will close at 1:00 PM
Magic Kingdom park, EPCOT and Disney Springs will close at 2:00 PM.
It is likely the theme parks will remain closed on Thursday, October 10. We will consider opening Disney Springs on Thursday in the late afternoon, with limited offerings.

This includes the cancellation of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom park on Thursday, October 10. Event tickets will be refunded.

The Aquatica water park and Hurricane Milton Updates - Discovery Cove will be closed too.

After reviewing the latest route of Hurricane Milton and to ensure the safety of our ambassadors, guests and animals, SeaWorld Orlando will be closed on Wednesday, October 9th and Thursday, October 10th.

Continue to check back for updates on park reopening on Friday, October 11.

Hurricane Milton Update: Disney World is closing the Ft. Wilderness campground, treehouse villas & cabins at Wilderness Lodge. No changes to Disney, Universal, or SeaWorld park hours yet.

Orlando International Airport, Tampa, St.Pete & Melbourne airports closing on Wednesday.

SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica water park, Busch Gardens Tampa, Legoland, Peppa Pig, Discovery Cove & Gatorland will all be closed Wed & Thurs.

Hurricane Milton: the Orlando theme parks and hotels are all fully operational at this time. The weather is being monitored and change/cancellation fees are being waived for for guests with check-in dates of Sunday, 10/6 - Saturday, 10/12.

FYI: Costco has discounted gift cards for 2 Universal Orlando CityWalk restaurants: Bubba Gump’s (Landry’s) and Moe’s Southwest Grill. These have to be purchased through the Costco website, not available in the store. Costco membership required. The Landry’s gift cards can also be used at Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex, and Yak & Yeti at Disney World.

Costco has 2 deals on restaurant gift cards that can be used at Disney World. Blaze Pizza is in Disney Springs. Landry’s cards cards can be used at Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex, Yak & Yeti, and Bubba Gump at Universal. You cannot use the discounted gift cards and get Landry Select rewards points though. And you cannot get an AP discount when using the discounted gift cards.

We love the Disney theme parks, but we recently did a 3-night “staycation” at Disney’s Polynesian Village and it was really nice to slow down, actually relax, and take advantage of some of the activities offered at the resort. Some activities had a cost, but others were free. The activities vary from hotel to hotel, but all of the official Disney hotels have them.
