Air quality varies significantly between and within the cities of our planet. We’ve taken the largest mega cities (>10 million inhabitants) of the world and ran some stats for the past 6 years using European reanalysis data from the Copernicus project.
The chart below summarises the long term averages and differences in air quality, measured in EQOindex units (http://www.eqoindex.com).
Within the cities, the difference in the quality of air can be considerable between adjacent streets and quarters, and we shall report more on this in the next posts so please stay tuned.
