Got this for a dog post.
I attempted to continue posting pictures of my Great Dane at Wall Drug in South Dakota and received this message. I guess I’m done on Instagram.
After miles of highway everyone, even a Great Dane, needs some fresh water from Wall Drug.
You have to see the badlands to appreciate them.
One of the best road trip drives is 90 from Wi across MN to SD. The gas stations are custom built for dogs. They have lots of land. Bonnie loved them. You can even stop on the banks of the Missouri for a drink.
I always love the drive up Pike’s Peak. Even when the top is covered in clouds it makes for amazing pictures.
Arches is exciting enough that you can have a great trip even if you only have a day, but vast enough to keep you entertained if you have weeks to explore.
Everywhere you look In Monument Valley you see the backdrop of another movie.
Man I love Page AZ.
Miss Blue needed a break. Only in the west can a potty break turn into a photo shoot. 🌵
The cold air brings out the eagles.
A little rain couldn’t dampen our spirits as we cut through Zion on the way to Page, AZ. It was amazingly beautiful. Rain always brings the rocks to life.
After a loooong night in Vegas, we were all tired. Especially Bonnie Blue. After a late start we finally headed towards Zion National Park.
If you’re heading to Vegas, make sure to check out Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Get off the blacktop if you can too.
While heading into Vegas, I found a great dirt road just before Hoover Dam. It had amazing views of Lake Mead, Desert Bighorns, and even a hawk that caught a snake. Bonnie Blue even found a few friends to play with as she stretched her legs after the long car ride.
I’m a little late, but I wanted to wish Brutus, Bella and all the bears at Montana Grizzly Encounter a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!🎂 Make sure to stop anytime you are near Bozeman.
What did pioneers think when they pulled their wagons up to the edge?
I felt like Bobby Brady hiding baked beans in a flashlight when I finally made it to the Grand Canyon. I had been dreaming of it since I saw the episode. I even brought extra shoe laces just in case.
If you are visiting Slide Rock State Park, and it starts to rain... STAY! The rocks come alive. 🌵
You can’t help but love the drive from Meteor Crater to Sedona. Make sure to catch sunset from Schnebly Hill Road.
I love Petrified Forest National Park and the Painted Desert. Many may recognize some scenes from “the Grapes of Wrath” filmed here. I know my girl Bonnie Blue did.
Niagara Falls...... Slowly I turned. Step by step. Inch by inch.....
There’s nothing quite like a ride through the Finger Lakes, stopping to see amazing waterfalls like Taughannock, and stopping for wine tastings at Lucas Vineyards.
The drive from Duluth to Mackinaw has beautiful scenery and great places to stop and explore. Make sure to get some Pasties!
Whenever I travel back to Jersey from Yellowstone I love to drive the Back roads and then head through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It takes longer but it is beautiful. Plus they have awesome roadside attractions.
The eastward trek begins... I even got to see Salem Sue in the daylight. 🐄
Although the Beartooth was closed Earlier in the trip I still wanted to head to Red Lodge so we took the back way from Bozeman.
Who knew snow sailing was a thing? I think I’ll stick to exploring Livingston.
The coolest bed and breakfast to stay at..... ever. Howlers Inn in Bozeman is a Wolf Sanctuary where you stay in amazing log cabin rooms overlooking the wolves. There are windows in the basement where they come right up to you. Koa and Shasta are my favorites. Make sure to plan ahead. Awesome rooms. Awesome people. Crazy great woofers.
If you are ever near Bozeman, you have to stop at Montana Grizzly Encounter. It is an amazing Bear rescue run by tv and movie star Brutus the Bear. Sorry Casey. It is the best venue in the Yellowstone area to view Grizzlies up close (other than Yellowstone of course). I once again got to see the sassy Bella, this time playing with her elk hide. I also got to see the rambunctious youngin Max playing around. When you’re there, make sure to donate too. It takes a lot to maintain those cuddly teddy bears.
From Yankee Jim Canyon to Hitching Post, the Bighorns always put on a show for you.
My first otter OUT of the water at Confluence. Lots of pics swimming here and at Fishing Bridge but never on land. Unfortunately he only stayed a second. Waited another hour.
What separates Yellowstone from most all other parks for me are the animals. Every day is new.
The animals and waterfalls of Yellowstone in the winter are an amazing sight. Just be aware that planning a winter trip has a lot more obstacles. Road closures, reduced services, and unpredictable weather makes planning key. Message me if you need some help.
Pics from Another amazing sunset on the River.
The geyser basins in Yellowstone look more like Middle-Earth in the winter.
Old Faithful in the Winter.... defiantly reminds me of “The Shining”.
Don’t see anything? Laying on the heated earth of one of Yellowstone’s thermal areas, are 15 members of the Wapiti Wolfpack. An awesome sight!!!
The over snow roads in Yellowstone take you to places you only dream of.
Cooke City is a whole different place in the winter, but just as fun if not more.
