The Grand Slam, first leg of the Eagle Claw/Shappell Colorado Classic Ice Fishing Tournament series was held January 11 at Eleven Mile State Park. The team of two event saw 140 teams participating in a multi specie contest. There are Pro and Everyday Angler Divisions with cash prizes awarded that totalled $9,327.00, 1st through 4th place in Trout, Pike and Salmon categories. The Trout category was the heaviest weight for two fish. There is also a Big Fish Pot optional buy in (100% payout) for single heaviest fish. Here is Ryder Frazier (14) in his first ever ice fishing contest of father/son Team 119 from Colorado Springs with his 4.505lbs Cuttbow that put Frazier/Frazier in 4th place with a total weight of 6.965lbs paying $205.00. Competition was down to ounces with Team 119 beating the next team by .298oz total weight and were only .45oz away with Ryder's catch from winning the Big Fish Pot ($815.00) which was 5.49lbs. Total weight winner for $505.00 was 8lbs.
