10 Day Ayahuasca Healing Journey
Welcome to Rio Ucayali, home to the indigenous Shipibo people of Peru. Whilst travelling with my partner seeking an authentic healing experience of Ayahuasca, a Peruvian man we stumbled across insisted we visit the group of Shamans led by highly respected Maestro Javier Vasquez. Somehow we managed to find this 1800 person banana plantation deep in the jungle along
the Ucayali River where magical things are happening. What transpired was a week of healing, awakening and heart opening that is very hard to put in to words.. Javier´s wife Anita, friends Maestro Jose, Maestro Ramon, apprentice Teddy and all Javier and Anita´s lovely children took care of us like family from the first moment. Although unexpected, the group told us humbly that it was an honor to know that people were coming from so far to visit them. They said it was a sign that what they do together in their regular ceremonies is working, and being encouraged. If you speak a intermediate Spanish and would like to make the journey on your own write to me and I will give you instructions on how to arrive! Having successflly sent a few friends individually, at Javier´s request, it´s a privilege to now lead small groups there to allow more people to experience the profound healing and heart opening that this small community of Shamans genuinely wish to give us. The ceremonies take place in simple village in the heart of the jungle surrounding Pucallpa. There is no plush centre, we will be living as the Indegenous do sharing a ceremonial wooden structure ‘maloca’ on their spacious plot of land surrounded by banana trees. Much can be learned from seeing how harmoniously and joyfully the families live here, a place where children can play anywhere and are always happy to help out. Being welcomed without question or judgement in to a culture so different to my own was a heart warming lesson. With no other distractions than the beautiful jungle and Ucayali River for swimming, a journey of Ayahuasca ceremonies in this caring family environment allowed me to process and let go of things holiding me back and discover everything waiting within- within myself, everyone and everything. There are no home comforts and the mosquitos can be ferocious. Just staying in the community is as important as the ceremonies in this healing journey. Be prepared to see your very worst and your very best come out. In a place that is so simple your shadow self is likely to be exposed making deep healing possible but posing a very real internal journey if you can be brave enough to embrace it. Your relationship to the environment, the people and yourself, will define your journey. Enlightening Ayahuasca visions are in no way guaranteed. The medicine works with you and where your at in your life in general, and in your process of adapting to living in the jungle. No one ceremony is the same and everyone's experience is different. It is her Kingdom, for all its what we may perceive as 'dificulties'. Willingness to look within and take responsibility for your feelings is absolutely crucial. I have seen the jungle as a paradise and as a nightmare, depending on the eyes I see it through. I can only conclude its a great play to sort your eyes out. This trip is not for everyone, we all need different experiences at different moments on our paths. If you are called, it will be an honor to take you. Whilst the shamans have had very few western visitors they were extremely caring creating a safe nuturing sacred space. Monitoring our progress during the ceremony we were given constant personal attention centered around beautiful healing songs 'Icaros' to aid our personal journeys. During the ceremonies I couldn´t have felt better cared for every night with 3-6 shamans present plus accomplished apprentices. Due to the simple nature of the journey and myself being the only guide and organiser I am able to offer this experience at a reduced rate. Price: £470 €580
