Yesterday, I said goodbye to my old girl 💓
So happy I got to have the experience of a summer of adventure, but she's got a lot left to give and is now making another couple happy 😊

After an expensive, loud and turbulent stay in Appley Bridge at Charity farm (the home of feral weekend kids and wasps)
I've come to a lovely little site not far away. Little cafe on site, garden centre and a great pub over he Road! There's chickens running all around me and I'm here for it!!

Anyway...down with Brenda.
Those who know, if I'm upset enough to write all that.... I was really upset...
by the whole thing and emotions were high, and frankly, I was shell shocked.
I called the neighbouring site and tearfully asked if she could accommodate me to which she didn't hesitate, despite the obvious distress I was in. As I parked at my new pitch, I got a text message from Brenda (image included) admitting that she was wrong and a cheery ending. Like I hadn't just been accused of lying, publicly humiliated, and asked to leave.
I have included all the conversation that followed. I believe it's clear the type of place this is and the type of character that runs it.
As someone that has acute borderline personality disorder and is currently healing from personal trauma - this afternoon will stay with me for a very long time.
I know that Brenda has recently lost her husband and that's why I believed we could be a help to each other, but unfortunately, that wasn't to be.
A flimsy apology, followed by TOTAL lack of remorse will not undo what happened today.
There are no embellishments in this review. It is completely factual and written calmly. I had planned to spend the rest of the summer there on that beautiful land, but purely because one woman can't admit fault and her residents don't like strangers - that was that. I am not a rude or confrontational person - but they are. Avoid.

the van to my left and asked if she was OK. She asked if I knew who it belonged to as she hadn't written it down. I described the people and thought no more of it. Until later that day, I was informed by Brenda that I couldn't stay Friday night as they were full. So I said we'll I've paid for 5 days but it's all good if you'll have me back when you can. And this, is where it turned.
In response to my comment, was a mildly snappy "you turned up here on Sunday, not Monday"
Being the passive person I am, I shrugged it off and made other arrangements for the Friday.
The following day, after checking my emails, bank statements and call logs. I was satisfied that it was in fact Monday.
So as I saw Brenda later that afternoon, I stated that it was Monday and was half way through saying that she could owe me a day when I return - but I didn't get the chance to finish my sentence. She went from zero to 100 in a heartbeat and was adamant she was right. Got louder and louder, More aggressive and rude. I found proof in several ways, that wasn't enough - she also stated that 'people had been telling her tales' but wouldn't specify on what or whom from, then said that I shouldn't come back.
Then one of the permanent residents got involved, also stating that he saw me arrive on Sunday. I asked him to ask her to check her cctv or ring doorbell, I asked what I'd done to deserve this treatment. I cried hysterically. It was so out of the blue and completely unwarranted. As i knew I was no longer welcome, I began to pack up and called my partner to come and help. He also arrived with me on Monday, but he was also wrong, apparently. As I sobbed and struggled to pack up - the whole site sat on their chairs and watched. Not a peep from any of them. If you saw a young woman, clearly very distressed and being shouted at by an elderly woman, would you step in? Because I know I would.
I reluctantly drove away and admittedly, did use some choice words as I left as I was so incredibly hurt
A conflicting but important review
I found this site on Google and chose it because of its location. I called the owner a number of times on Sunday 2nd July, but after a few attempts I got an answer from a lady that appeared to be a helpful and friendly host - Brenda.
I asked of her availability for a campervan and it was agreed I would have a grass pitch, with electric from the next day until the end of the week. I informed her I would be there for around dinner time the following day, enquired on how to pay and was told its cash only on arrival. Absolutely great, thank you - I'll see you tomorrow.
10 days prior, I had had pack up and leave my childhood home after the passing of my father. I had bought a campervan and set off to try and find some peace and a safe space to process it all. After a week in Cumbria, I found that being rural created too many problems and headed to familiar ground.
This site was perfect and close to my last remaining relative and a few good friends.
I arrived around 11:30 on the Monday morning, rang the ring doorbell and was met by Brenda, who had no idea who I was and couldn't recollect the conversation the day before.
I asked to pay for 10 days instead of 7, only to be told that they were full at weekend. So I agreed and paid £100 in cash to stay the 5 nights. I made another booking at a nearby site from Saturday to Saturday and I was sorted.
I parked on my pitch and instantly fell in love with the place! So scenic and relaxing, all the fellow campers appeared to be friendly, I was smitten.
I had seen Brenda a few times through my stay and told her how beautiful her site was and that I would love to come back when she had room for me. Potentially with a view of staying for a few weeks. I offered to help out if she needed it, I smiled and started polite interactions with the people there, I cleaned up after myself wherever I went, but otherwise, kept myself to myself in my little van. One afternoon I noticed Brenda walking around...
Oh, was I smitten with this place 😍
Cheap and quiet, clean facilities, perfect!
I arrived and paid for 5 nights.
Then on Thursday afternoon, it all changed.
The next thing I'll post is my review.
Ohhhh, its long. But, it doesn't even compare to the real event.
You all know me well enough to know that I'm a generally nice person.
Interpretation is everything I suppose...but this came from nowhere!!....
Because I'm a nervous nelly, I'd purchased the FULL AA cover, but it was Sunday morning....
Eventually, I was assisted back yo home turf.
I called a few sites, and finally got a good reaction from Moss House Farm in Appley Bridge.
I arrived on Monday about midday. Torrential rain, flustered and hot from driving a tank.... I pitched up.
After coniston, I headed back to Hall more in Milnthorpe to get clean and rest.
During my 24 hour stay, I got caught in a storm with a thin t-shirt on. And took the roof off a charity shop. Mostly the gutter but a few other scuffs. My awning took the brunt.
The next morning, the battery was flat.

I'd posted pictures from that day, but shortly after got terrible food poisoning and was confronted with an ENORMOUS seagull that wanted our bin bag. Torrential rain. No electricity. Nowhere to dry the wet clobber.
Regardless, a great site!!!

So you may believe that because I've been so quiet, I'm off gallivanting....

Today has been absolutely perfect! We found this amazing site right on the shore of coniston Lake! As you can see the dogs had a scream, but I also managed to get in for my first wild swim! We're now having a bbq and a beer before getting tucked up for the night! Totally bliss!
Tonight's pitch up is a pub stop over.
Manor House at Oxen Park, Ulverston.
Free to park if eating in the pub (although not the cheapest) a very peaceful place to chill 😴
