Have you always heard of Paramin but never got the opportunity to visit this marvelous and picturesque village? The village of Paramin is located roughly 10KM North West of the city of Port-of-Spain on one of the highest points in the Northern Range, Trinidad. Paramin is known for its steep slopes, winding roads, seasoning and the best views of the country accessible by a vehicle. Unknown to many, this community is tremendously rich in culture and tradition not only for parang but also for the famous “Blue Devils”.

The X-Perience Local team is headed to the hills of Paramin on Sunday 29th January, 2023.

Park your vehicles in a secured parking area and get ready for a unique X-Perience! We will board the comfortable, X-Perience Local Shuttle driven by one of the safest resident drivers and head to the mountains.

The informative and scenic tour will be conducted by one of the best tour guides native to Paramin. You will visit numerous famous sites within the village including the newly opened “La Vigie Paramin Lookout”, seasoning gardens, the “church on the rock”, and an enormous “walk in“ cave to name a few.

At the end of the scenic tour, we will dine at one of the local’s “Outdoor Kitchen & Patio” while enjoying astonishing, birds eye views of the mountainous community to the south and the blue Caribbean Sea to the north. Enjoy some coconut bake with saltfish buljol, coffee or cocoa tea prepared by one of the top local chefs “Aunty Julia” from the village.

Be prepared for a culturally transforming workshop on the history and evolution of the Blue Devil. You will be provided with the opportunity to witness the process of assembling the Blue Devil attire. You will observe first hand the transformation of the “Blue Devil” character. You will learn the “Jab-Jab“ dance which aligns to the beating rhythm of burnt aluminum tins. Can you breathe fire?! If you’re brave enough and willing to accept the challenge, this once in a lifetime opportunity awaits! Oh! Don’t forget to walk with some pocket change to “pay the devil!” to avoid the splatter of blue!
