Is it 332 years ago today, February 13, 1692, that 38 members of the MacDonald clan were murdered in what has become known as the Glencoe massacre. Captain Robert Campbell of Glen Lyon ordered his troops, who had accepted accommodation and food from the Glencoe villagers, to “put all to the sword under 70”. Many more died from exposure as they fled. They will be remembered at an annual commemoration of the Massacre of Glencoe Service at St Mary’s Church, Glencoe. First photo of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) seen in East Scotland 15 miles from Edinburgh. Eskimo tribes believed, through summoning the Aurora, they could talk to their dead relatives. Cree Indians believed strongly in the 'circle of life'. They also believed the lights were a way of communicating with their ancestors, and when dogs barked at the lights, it was because they recognised their lost companions. The other photos showing the beauty of Scotland.

This Myth is about an ancient Scottish connection with Northern Ireland. It refers to Fionn mac Cumhaill (Finn McCool) – an Irish giant who picked a fight with Scottish giant Benandonner.

Legend has it that the giants loathed each other. And so one day after enduring insults from Benandonner, Fionn built a path to use as stepping-stones to reach Scotland, which was then destroyed by Benandonner. The result was the Giant’s Causeway.

The remnants of a giants shoe (now turned to stone) can also be seen.
