Restoring and repairing some of the original mortise door locks.
We have 10 of these in the house. Some had lost functionality due to rust and grime buildup inside the mechanisms.
After cleaning with steel wool and WD40 and adjusting some strike plates they are fully operational again.

Remember the old tub 🛁 I said we would repurpose?? We did, to our basement bathroom we created 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤and it has the coolest faucet. I’m so excited about this bathroom. It was just the laundry with a toliet before and now it is our 3rd bathroom!! I can’t believe this is the basement.

Before and After: Basement window beautification and increases privacy!! I would imagine it will also help with energy efficiency. We Love the Look!!!🤍🤍

And bonus- no original windows were hurt in this process.

Warning - BEFORE: this room really got under my skin. The trim - couldn’t take it. And you can tell in these photos from the posting why. Shoty workmanship, unmarried seams in the trim and holes. This was not old house settling. Rob and mom have worked and worked to get the trim perfectly aligned, patching holes in the walls, fresh paint, and more amazing floor work! Stay tuned for after 😍😍

After!!! I cannot get enough of this tile!! And the light and ceiling medallion are my favorites!!! Still needed is the mirror and a few minor decorations and shower curtain, both those details will be coming!!🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤

Black and white are very true to the 1920s style. We think it looks grand with the original wood.

During…we switch out the tub for a shower and some wall storage, leaving the original bathroom footprint and not taking out any walls.

Before…

This house had one bathroom when we purchased. This was a picture. Unfortunately for a family of 6 this was not workable, especially because it had a leak that could have ruined a lot in this house!!

We did save the tub and will show you what we used it for.

They are beautiful!!! Original wood, just sanded and varnished, no stain. We love the original look of the wood.

Rob and mom had never done this before. And they did amazing. Rob has been hand sanding the last 2 days each board individually before applying 2 more coats of varnish.

Sanding and coating, coating and sanding, sanding and coating!! Our realtor is better than yours 👏🏼💁🏼‍♀️😂😉

Rob and mom decided to sand and refinish our 3rd floor floors and they brought this beautiful original floor back to life!!!

It looks amazing and they are not finished yet..
