Don’t leave your application too late!!

🔆🏝 Planning to go away? Check your passport expiry! 🔆🏝

Since leaving the EU, your passport is now only valid for 10 years from the date of issue.

If your passport was issued prior to the UK leaving the EU & it has any additional months on it, those extra months are no longer valid for travel.

Most European countries also require a minimum of 3-6 months validity on your passport.

ℹ️ FOR EXAMPLE:
⛔️ Passport issue date 20th July 2012
⛔️ Passport expiry date 20th September 2022
‼️ Your expiry date is now the 20th July 2022 ‼️

Based on that example, the country you are travelling to might also require 3 months validity on your passport - meaning the latest date you can travel is April 2022

✅ Anyone who has got a holiday booked or planning on booking a holiday, please check your passport validity from the date of return, usually 3 to 6 months depending on where you are travelling.

Update – 10th April 2022

Many of you will have seen in the media some pretty sensational headlines about travel ‘chaos’ at the minute.

I wish I could say it is all rubbish – some of it is true – I experienced some of it first hand last Friday at Manchester Airport where I arrived at a peak time and experienced delays and frankly what I can only describe as incompetence. Due to the ongoing P&O Ferries suspension, there are also capacity issues on ferries which are causing delays, but mainly at the English Channel ports.

Travel was almost completely closed down for nearly two years, so it was always going to take some time for things to go back to ‘normal’. Demand is higher than ever and everyone, and we included in this, is struggling to recruit staff.

However, in many cases the situation is improving. We have not seen the same issues at either of the Belfast airports and the issues that were being experienced in Dublin Airport last week appear to have been resolved. Similarly, there are no reports of significant delays at any of the key overseas airports. Our advice is to just allow plenty of time at the airport, we recommend 3 hours before departure, to make sure you can complete all of your formalities with enough time.

From a Heathside Travel Experts perspective, we are as busy as we have ever been as demand has returned. We are working through messages, calls and emails as quickly as we possibly can but understand that there can be delays. As a result we are looking to recruit for the following positions:
