“Love is the flower you’ve got to let grow.”
- John Lennon

Was standing and looking at the luckynut tree when a flower dropped on my head.

Held a brunch of them in my hands and inhaled..

What a sweet scent!

Did you notice anything which brings you joy today?

🌿Hidden Life of the Casuarina Trees

Casuarina Trees has always been special to me. I remembered my first encounter with them at the East Coast Park, I was admiring it for a long long time.

It must be a happy tree, the leaves were dancing in the wind. And they looked like green feathers from afar. The canopy was a cone shape which reminded me of a Christmas tree.🌲

The association with the jolly season kindled a warm fuzzy feeling in me.

This is a tree of celebrations! 🎊😃

I can't wait to meet them again on Coney Island, thousands of them.

Join us for our first walk to understand more about the Casaurina trees and Coney Island.

May the magic and wonder be with you too!✨️

Cannonball Tree Flower

Brunching from the trunk, the brightly coloured flowers of the Cannonball tree are large, waxy and measuring 12cm across! If you look at them closely, you will also see the folded lip with bristle-like stamens.

Feeling blessed. ❤

Have the flowers not brunch from the lower part of the trunk, I would not have had the chance to admire them this close. ☺️

Do comment if you have seen them blooming in your neighbourhood. :)

Everyone has their own path.
It's not a competition.
Each flower blooms in its own time.
So will we. ❤

I came from Turkey in
pink, yellow, violet, red,
orange and white.
I bloom in this sphere of
perpetual spring,
Just until the roses comes.
I am a sea of brightly-coloured bulbs,
You may not see again,
after the month of May.

Don't miss me.

Appreciate the earthy scent after a rain shower, and don't forget to smell the flowers.

A flower has no time to waste;
Her soul stems from self-love.
- Angie Weiland-Crosby

Please leave me a comment if you are able to ID the flower. :)

Golden Dewdrop (Duranta erecta 'variegata')

More purple flowers! 😍

Commonly found in our parks and gardens, this lush evergreen shrub with pretty lavender flowers is often used as boundary hedges or topiary in gardens.

The lavender flowers in tight clusters bloom almost the whole year long, especially in full sun. When in full bloom, many species of butterflies 🦋 can be spotted attracted to the flowers to feed.

Do keep a lookout for the purple bloom and butterflies the next time when you are out in nature.🙂

Peace and blessings to all ❤

On National Day, I joined the Dover Forest tour conducted by , a glimpse into the sad fate of the Dover Forest East.

The Forest will be cleared in late 2022 for building of public housing. :(

The animals and plants will lose their forest homes, making way for our concrete homes. 😥

Among them, the resident Changable hawk-eagle will no longer be able to find the tree where they are currently nesting. The same fate remains for the Oriental pied hornbill family which had a nest in close proximity.

The clusters of bioluminescent mushrooms reported by the Guardian (Australia), photographed growing on the durian/ficus tree earlier this year, will also be lost.

A petition with 50,000 signatures did not help to save Dover Forest East.

Is there more we can do?

Before its too late?

Connect with for a tour at the Dover Forest East to hear more about the fragile forest.
