This is actually HUGE news!

Our summit elevation of 4,848' makes Snowshoe the 2nd highest peak in the state of West Virginia. Nearby Spruce K**b tops out just 15' taller at 4,863'. We are excited to announce that this summer we will be re-positioning several tons of dirt and rock in order to gain the 16' of elevation needed to officially become the tallest mountain in the Mountain State! 

"Spruce K**b is a special place for sure, but it has held the top spot for millions of years now." said Patti Duncan, Snowshoe President & COO. "We're excited to complete this project and officially become the Almost-est point in all of Almost Heaven." 

Resort officials believe this coveted distinction will further cement Snowshoe as the #1 mountain resort in the region.
