For the information of the stakeholders, we are posting the TCP’s position paper sent to the IATF through the DOT last May 11, 2020 with regard to the proposed reopening of travel agencies and tour operators.

We would like to reiterate that the recommendation then was that opening should be done on a voluntary basis subject to the workplace guidelines issued by the DOLE. There was no explicit request to reopen companies to process refunds as that is a matter best left to individual companies to take care of.

To be clear, the suggestion to reopen travel agencies stemmed from a radio report regarding the request of a travel agency to reopen to process refunds and do administrative work. The issue was taken up by the IATF that same day, approved and announced.

Again, that was not part of the TCP’s recommemdations.

We hope this clarifies the TCP’s position on the matter.

Holy Wednesday (March 27)

10:00pm – Assembly at McDonald’s Ave. cor. EDSA near MRT Quezon Ave South Bound
11:00pm – Departure for Banaue

Maundy Thursday (March 28)

7:00am – Expected Time of arrival in Banaue
7:30am – Breakfast at Banaue on personal account.
8:30am – Start of travel to Sagada. On the way to Sagada, stop at different breathtaking view points like Banaue Rice Terraces Viewpoint, Mt. Polis, Bayo Rice Terraces Viewpoint
11:30am – Expected time of arrival in Sagada. Check-in
12:00pm – Lunch to be provided
1:00pm – Meet local guides after lunch
1:150pm – Start of Sagada tour visiting Lumiang Cave or also known Burial Cave (1 hour) and Sumaguing Cave (4-5 hours)
5:00pm – Back to hotel
