Messing about getting a lecture polished for 1st year Salford students. Thought I’d do a scale representation of the smallest beetle species on Earth (Scydosella) compared to my fabulous Titanus giganteus specimen. The former is 1/400 the length of Titanus: it is slightly longer than the width of two ommatidia eye facets! My fingertip is in the first shot for scale.
