Just learned about the passing of Mrs Nguyen Thi Lou (88 years old) last year. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting her and her husband Mr. Le Van Se (96 years old) when I was in Hoi An Vietnam 3 years ago. Their love endured war, tragedy and poverty. They never stopped smiling and the love they had for each other was so obvious to anyone. RIP

About 120 km from Prague, is a picturesque medieval town of Kutná Hora, that contains a macabre sight not to be missed. In the 14th Century the Black Death was ravaging Europe. The cemeteries were overflowing so the skeletons of about 70,000 people were exhumed, their bones piled up in heaps.
Then... In 1870, a woodcarver, was employed to put the bone heaps into order, yielding this dark, macabre, yet at the same time, humbling result. Personally for me, it gave me a sense of peace, and belonging. Somehow tying me to these long dead people. I could relate.. Their dreams, desires, loves, heartbreaks. Now nothing but bones arranged into the most beautiful art. Somber, still..
