Happy New Year!!!!
Thank you to everyone who visited The Cozy in 2024.
We just got back from spending New Years in our happy place. So relaxing listing to the rhythm of the ocean, enjoying the views and of course each others company. New years day was absolutely beautiful! I think it hit about 8 degrees and the winds were calm. We spent the day outside walking through town, hiking the trail and of course taking photos. We wish you all a Happy and prosperous New Year!

If you have visited you probably noticed some rope art around the cottage. It has all been made by my husband. This is his newest piece. This one won‘t be going to the cozy but thought I would share.

After a very busy summer, we had a much needed break this past weekend. It was great to just get out relax and recharge. Go for walks and do some photography! We walked through town, hiked the Chance Cove costal trail and walked Bellevue Beach, where I captured this image of the sea stack. Bellevue Beach is just a few km down the road from The Cozy. So worth the visit!

Have you ever been to Pipers Hole? I'm not sure how many times we have driven by it and said we really need to go there in the fall. Less than a hour drive from The Cozy. Beautiful time of year to go explore, see some beauty, and capture a few shots.

What a beautiful autumn morning yesterday in Chance Cove. The winds were so calm and the ocean was putting on a show! Usually when the ocean is alive the winds are very high, so that is a special treat for sure. We are still getting some beautiful hiking weather!

Spending some time in the area? After doing the Chance Cove Costal Trail. Why not do some exploring and check out the Seaview Trail in Norman's Cove-Long Cove. I can remember my first time driving into Norman's Cove and seeing this rock formation jetting up out of the water and all it's colour. I was blown away by it's beauty and love seeing it when driving in. It is only 20 min or so down the highway from us and you will be able see this formation when you are coming into town. Or you can take a scenic drive through Bellevue and Thornlea to Norman's Cove. After hiking the trail there is a coffee/gift shop Three Jolly Fishermen down by the marina. Grab a coffee and enjoy the views! The trail takes you up on this formation and down around the other side. On a clear day this formation can also be seen from D***o.

Love these cute little mummers especially the George St Pole Dancer LOL... Found these at Made On The Rock Crafts & Gifts in Sunnyside, just a little ride up the HWY from The Cozy. They add a nice little splash of colour. They have lots of locally made items if you are looking for a little something to take home.

Loving this new stained glass piece. Made by Michael Laduke in his studio at The SeaGlass B & B and Studio Ltd. located in New Perlican NL. I love the glass that was used for the water, with it's greens and blues it looks just like the ocean on the Chance Cove Costal Trail! We just hung it today and then went to do the trail. Fittingly enough as we were walking across the beach to the trail, a whale was in the cove.

Words cannot express how much it means to me when I receive notes like this! I love my little piece of paradise in Chance Cove NL and it really means a lot to me when others love it too. I have received many kind words from people all over the world, it fills me with joy when they see the beauty of Newfoundland!

A ball of rope... is it art or a tangled mess? We would call it art, and love it! Our brother in-law recently gave this to us and my husband could not wait to hang it for people to see. This was hanging in the barn of his families homestead in Western Bay Newfoundland. Given our brother in-laws age, we are guessing it must have been hanging there for a 100 years. Haha, well maybe not that long! All the rope art you will see in the cozy was made by my husband so he was very happy to receive this gift. Now when you come visit The Cozy you will know how the rope made it's way there.
