My friend and I have just returned from an amazing trip to Peru, which was planned by Chris Mahoney with Uncover Latin America! Chris, our Uncover Latin America Agent, and his team of professional guides insured that every detail of tour was covered; which resulted in a flawless trip to Cusco, Machu Picchu, and the Sacred Valley! Our knowledgeable guides arrived promptly for every tour and with signage so we knew exactly where to find them. They were well prepared and consistently called ahead to each location we were to visit to ensure everything was ready for us prior to our arrival. Our guides were very knowledgeable in answering all questions we had about the history of the location we were touring and helped guide us to the best Instagram photo spots! Thank you Hector and Miluska! Additionally, Chris happily accommodated our special request for one-way travel on the Hiram-Bingham Orient Express from Cusco to Aguas Calientes; a once in a lifetime opportunity that all visitors to Machu Picchu must experience! He also arranged a special Cusco Market Tour/Private Cooking Class with Gil where we learned how to cook and enjoy traditional Peruvian cuisine. The “icing on the cake” for us happened during our Cusco hotel to the airport transport (for our return to Lima). Our guide already had our airline boarding passes and luggage tags in the private transport prior to arriving to the airport and walked us up to the airport counter for luggage drop off! Amazing! We will be using Uncover Latin America for all our future travel to Latin America and will be encouraging our friends and family to do so as well. Thank you Uncover Latin America for an amazing travel experience in Peru!

Trip number 8? For the Lewis couple with Uncover Latin America and back to Peru for second time to discover more of its hidden treasures. This time visiting Huaraz home to Peru's highest mountain range and mountain Huascarán which is 6,768masl, pristine emerald coloured blue lagoons and the Chavin culture known for their Labyriths (just like in the Davie Bowie film). Then they flew to Chachapoyas Peru's hidden gem and stayed at the Gocta Lodge which has one of the most impressive views in the world looking onto Gocta Falls which is Peru's longest free falling cascade. They then flew deep into the Peruvian Amazon Jungle where they spent 4 days cruising down the Amazon River aboard the luxurious Zaphiro Cruise (surprise upgrade) and enjoying the creature comforts and insights from the World Class Botanist and Biologist guides onboard. Finishing the trip in Lima enjoying some delicious Peruvian cuisine before heading home back to Canada. Always a pleasure working with the lovely Lewis couple.

"Thanks for following up with us and for helping organize the trip. We really loved Peru and your team took really good care of us. We had one especially excellent guide in Sacred Valley, Jose, and one driver, Victor. They truly enhanced our experience.

Also we appreciated the dinner at MAP Cafe - we really wanted to hike but understand it was out of your hands and the gift was very thoughtful.

I’ll send photos in a separate email.
Take care" Elise and Garrett.

Lots of smiles from this lovely group of travelers who just finished their Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Getting photobombed by llamas and some adventure time in the sand dunes in Huacachina. Lovely photos.

Feeling rejuvenated after a long hibernation in as we welcome the return of all our lovely and amazing tourists to Peru, with visits to Machu Picchu back to the magnificent Pre Pandemic levels. Our group Amy, Mark and their family recently enjoyed a wonderful trip to Peru and they enjoyed the best that Peru had to offer. They experienced great weather, dinner at Maido (ranked 7th in the world) in Lima. An adventure to the Amazon Jungle staying at the all inclusive Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica. a relaxing retreat in the tranquil Sacred Valley at the Sol y Luna hotel before visiting World Wonder, Machu Picchu. Impressive views aboard the Vistadome Train back to Cusco, some Chocolate making for the kids in Cusco and a surprise birthday cake for Amy in Cusco at the end of their trip. Wonderful photos and glad they had an amazing trip.

Lot´s of smiles from the Fellows group who after having such a wonderful trip in Peru, decided to come back to South America and this time discover Colombia with us. They had a wonderful time starting in the Capital of Bogota one of the highlights being the underground Salt Cathedral.

Next stop the coffee region of Manizales staying at Hacienda which is perched above coffee fields. A short overnight stay at a hotel right next to the Hot Springs of Cabal then a scenic drive to Medellin, which is home to Pablo Escobar and the city of eternal spring, the land of cheerful, friendly and good humored people with deep rooted customs, impressive green landscapes and beautiful sunsets. A highlight being a side trip to Guadape and Penol.

After so much exploring it was time for some downtime in on the beach in Santa Marta staying at the brand new JW Marriott. Here they also discovered Tayrona National Park. The final destination of the trip was the Pearl of the Caribbean the colonial city of Cartagena.

A fantastic trip covering some of the best destinations Colombia has to offer. We get so many recommendations from previous passengers and those who come back and visit South America for a second time with us, which makes it all the more rewarding.

The best clients we have are the one who keep coming back. Maureen and Richard just completed their 5th trip with ULA. This time to Spain and Portugal celebrating 50 years of marriage, a huge achievement. They had a wonderful time starting in Barcelona enjoying culture and the obtuse Catalan Modernist Architecture left behind by the eccentric genius Gaudi, visiting his masterpieces the Familia Sagrada and Casa Mila.

Then enjoying a scenic train ride to Basque wine country, Rioja. Taking refuge inside an old Castle in the small medieval town of La Guardia. Lots of Wine Tasting with outstanding guides (Mikel was outstanding) and a highlight celebrating their anniversary at the Marques de Riscal, Michelin Star restaurant with the fit out designed by no other than Frank Gehry. From Rioja a scenic drive down to the coast to San Sebastian staying at the Londres Inglaterra hotel with a terrace and ocean view room. Here lots of hiking and Pintxos Bar crawling enjoying delicious Pintxos at various small establishments.

From San Sebastian a transfer to Bilbao and flight to Lisbon for some more site seeing visiting Sintra and enjoying a Fado Performance at Lisbon´s top Fado Restaurant called O´Faia. From Lisbon a train to Porto enjoying the river views from the hotel and more touring a highlight being a hike along the Paiva Walkaways and more delicious wine.

Always a great level of satisfaction being part of organizing an Anniversary. We are very gracious for our loyal clients that keep coming back, having the faith and confidence that we will deliver again. Thrilled a wonderful time was had fifth time around. 5/5!

Many thanks Satish. Some great photos from your "50 Shades of Blue" package. A real gem this tour, going off the beaten path. You will visit Huaraz where you will be surrounded by Peru´s highest ice capped peaks, Huascarán the highest (6,758m). You will then get your Indiana Jones (or David Bowie) mode on exploring underground Labyrinths of the Chavin culture. Then enjoy a day of hiking and exploring the Emerald and Sapphire coloured glacial lakes, the big reward being Laguna 69. From there you will visit the highlights of Cusco, the Sacred Valley and World Wonder, Machu Picchu. Very Instagram friendly, but more importantly a wonderful real life experience with vivid memories that will last a lifetime.

Our Story

Uncover Latin America is a committed socially responsible company.

Founded in 2010 by Christopher Mahoney from Sydney, Australia, Uncover Latin America is a proudly Peruvian owned company. We offer bespoke fully customized travel packages to Latin America and we cater to clients of all ages. Over the years we have planned customized travel packages to over 9,000 happy and satisfied passengers. From small and humble beginnings we have grown our business through strong referrals from previous satisfied passengers. Our office is located in Miraflores in Peru´s capital city, Lima.

A huge advantage you have when they book a trip with Uncover Latin America is our team is based locally. Latin America is a rapidly developing region. It´s a very exciting time to be working in the tourism industry here during such a boom, new and exciting experiences that go beyond your standard City Tours are being offered, new and top ranking restaurants are opening, hotels with an emphasis on an "experience" are popping up. Being based locally we get to appreciate all this first hand and be on the pulse. It´s very rewarding the feedback we get from our passengers especially to new projects and regions. Being based locally with our own operations, our overheads are lower as you are cutting out unnecessary middlemen, so we can provide you with knowledge much closer to the source at a much more competitive price.
