It’s time for another behind-the-scenes peek, unedited but full of memories! 😌

We love a pretty feed, so we carefully select our pictures and videos (which we take ourselves) and ensure faces are blurred for privacy. This sometimes makes it hard to show the funny and warm moments during the trip, but here are a few unedited (except for face blurring) moments from recent tours! Make sure to read the captions so you get the backstory ❤️

1. Pretty cover picture, because we do like a pretty feed (taken by one of the travelers). ❤️
2. When you have rows of traditional Japanese houses and suddenly spot a Turkish-designed mosque (phones out!). 🤳
3. Have you really been to Japan if you haven’t frantically searched for the goshuincho stamp spots so that you can prove you’ve actually been where you’ve been 🤔
4. Seeing a stacked Japanese parking garage for the first time and just standing there with the whole group, mesmerized by cars getting in and out 😮
5. No comment needed – just very prettily dressed ladies in kimonos! 👘
6. When it rains but you’re from Europe where rain is standard, so you just carry on as if nothing’s happening 😎
7. When you look for all the spots to take pictures without people in the background, but the truth is you’re in Japan and that’s impossible so you just give up on doing that after 1 million tries 🤷‍♀️

Have you prayed yet? 🤲

In Japan, finding prayer rooms (especially with wudu facilities) near popular attractions can be tricky. During our tours, we accommodate prayer needs, from mosques to specially booked spaces and even in nature!

Here are a few items to bring with you while traveling in Japan:
» Foldable prayer mat (that you don't mind getting dirty)
» Towel (public restrooms in Japan often lack paper towels)
» A bottle of water for wudu when facilities aren't nearby

Tulu Tours actually doesn't offer continuous group tours throughout the year. Our focus is on curating (luxury) private and self-guided tours in Japan, tailored to halal lifestyles. This way you too can capture Japan's nature, cuisine, entertainment, and luxury - without having to hold back.

This being said - only once or twice a year we offer a small group tour exclusive for women who would love to explore Japan, but who feel more comfortable with a private (Muslim) female guide with them. Will you join Tulu in Spring '24? ❤️

If you have time for a visit to a public park in Japan, it’s totally worth your time! Japanese gardens and parks are stunning, and the lovely Japanese landscapes promise very serene strolls. There are three things you should keep in mind when visiting, see below. First - Japanese public parks and gardens may be closed on Mondays. Make sure to check the opening hours before visiting. Second - most parks and gardens in Japan aren’t for picnics! There are a few that allow it, but check before you get a bit too comfortable with your picnic basket and blanket! Third - you may have to pay an entrance fee to some parks and gardens. While this isn’t much, they may only accept cash! Make sure to carry some cash just in case. Kanzarashi is home to Shimbara, located in Nagasaki Prefecture. The small boiled dumplings are made of shiratama flour, then cooled in Shimabara water. It's mostly served in a honey-based syrup, but variations such as fresh berries exist as well. This dessert combats the bitterness of matcha perfectly! 🍵

At the most southerly point of Miyazaki you can find Cape Toi. The cape is known for its wild horses, called Misaki-uma, said to be descendants of the horses bred for samurai from 1697. While these horses roam free and are generally unbothered, snacking on some grass, you should avoid direct contact or getting to close to them.
