Breaking down the classes (Warning, kinda long post)
Economy vs
Premium Economy vs Business vs First Class

Economy:
Available on all flights, short haul, long haul and extra long haul
• Often the “lowest” class available.
• Often allows only carry on
• Based on length of flight, can include meals (short haul vs long haul vs international)
• Smallest seat pitch available

Premium Economy:
Premium Economy is not available on short haul flights, economically it not viable.
• Can cost around 3x the price of economy
• One step up from Economy
• Priority Boarding
• Generally allows 2 checked bags plus carry on
• Includes better meals than economy and better service
• Better seat pitch which can sometimes include lie flat seats

Business Class:
• One tier below First Class
• Generally allows access to airline lounges (food, drinks, wifi, etc)
• Priority boarding
• Welcoming drinks on board
• Generally allows 2 checked bags plus carry on
• Sometimes, separate cabin that offers privacy and comfort
• Better meals and service than premium economy
• Amenities pouch (skin care products, toothbrush, toothpaste, eye mask, pen, etc)
• Business class on some airlines have onboard bars where you can sip and have a chat with fellow passengers (Emirates, Qatar, Virgin Atlantic)

First Class:
• The top tier of commercial aviation
• Access to airline first class lounges (food, drinks, Wi-Fi, etc.)
• Priority boarding
• Welcome drinks and snacks on board (top shelf drinks such as Dom Perignon etc.)
• Generally allows 2 checked bags plus carry on
• Separate cabin that offers privacy and comfort and can also include a shower stall
• The best service and meals that are chef inspired
• An attendant specifically assigned to you for the entire flight
• Sometimes, pick up from your home to the airport in a luxury vehicle
• Sometimes, boarding from a separate private terminal

What must be noted is that these conditions vary by airline, by length of flight, etc.

Borders are reopening!
Countries are starting to reopen their borders with limited access and with specific guidelines.
• Italy: they will reopen their borders from June 03rd allowing visitors within the Schengen zone with no obligation to self-isolate
• Greece: They are set to open its borders for tourists from the Schengen zone, the European Union and Israel, from mid-June or July 1 the latest.
• Spain: Set to reopen in early July but they have not given any specifics.
• Aruba: tentatively set to reopen on June 15th and no later than July 01st
• Grenada: They could open in June, with Sandals Grenada giving a tentative reopening date of June 04th
But……….while these borders are opening, Trinidad & Tobago’s borders remain closed and flights to Europe will either connect through the US or the UK whose borders remain somewhat closed.

In some more news, Virgin Atlantic has closed all operations at London Gatwick Airport (LGW), this means that flights from Tobago will now land at London Heathrow (LHR).
And there are rumors that British Airways will be following suit very shortly.
If you ever flew to London with Virgin you will be familiar with Gatwick and not Heathrow.
Heathrow is a much bigger airport than Gatwick and even Londoners sometimes complain about the difficulties of getting to and from Heathrow.
Apart from that, Heathrow is one of the main hubs of Europe, with flights to almost everywhere in the world.

Not only are we your travel butlers, planning and executing your best vacation ever but we are also going to serve as your travel information centre in this Covid period.
Today we start with the UK, where the government has decided to impose a 14 day quarantine to everyone coming in to the UK.
Exceptions to that rule are, as of now, people coming in from The Republic of Ireland and France.
UK based airlines (Ryanair and BA) have already stated that they will need more clarification on this rule and that it is more bad news for the industry.
This move can further damage an already Covid weakened travel industry and this move doesn’t seem to take the industry into consideration.
What are your thoughts on this move?

The Queen is disappearing.
The Boeing 747 aka the Queen of the Skies and possibly the most recognizable aircraft ever is slowly going in to retirement.
This plane changed the aviation industry and shrunk the world; it made travel to far flung places possible, and then cheaper.
But age of the aircraft and the advent of Covid-19 has forced airlines to begin retiring them earlier than expected.
Flying the 747 is the dream of many a traveler who swear they are almost or****ic (not our words).
With the queen being retired, one might ask……what routes still utilize the Queen?
Well the easiest and quite possibly the most utilized route could be New York (JFK) to London (LHR) Via British Airways. A 7hr flight that can cost you anywhere around US$750.00
Another option is Miami (MIA) to Manchester (MAN) for a little over US$1,00.00.
The bottom line is if you want to fly the Queen your time is running out.

Travel experts are of the strong belief that traveling with carry-on luggage makes travel easier because “there’s no way the airline can lose your luggage if you haven’t checked anything”.😅😅😅😅
Believe it or not, the air transport industry has cut down the number of wandering luggage by 50%. However, if you’ve had the misfortune of falling under the other 50%, you’ll know that lost or damaged baggage is a traveler’s nightmare.

Despite the fact that all travellers have luggage rights and can take the necessary steps once they realize their baggage has been lost or delayed, some rather skip the risk altogether by opting for carry-on luggage.
