Sometimes I don't want to respond to the question, "So you are a police officer?" with total strangers. Of course I'm not, yet it definitely opens the door to explain my advocacy:
I visit local, state, federal security/police at ten government properties a day to encourage their profession and advocate for vulnerable populations (homeless, addicts, ex-offenders, mental health consumers) at various other places where I receive services as a peer in Capitol City Downtown Lansing, Michigan, USA.
Today I am wearing swag for Ingham County Sheriff's Office Wednesday. Monday is Lansing Police Department. Tuesday is FBI. Thursday is United States Marshals Service. Friday is Michigan State Police. I support public safety and they give me awesome stuff that God provides.
I advocate at City of Lansing, Michigan - Government Council, LPD Board of Commissioners, CMH Board of Directors. I am the Consumer Advocate Board Member for Tri-County CIT Steering Committee.
I write books on the intersection of Faith, Mental Health, and Public Safety.
I want to speak at more conferences.
I am very much a consumer visiting Holy Cross Shelter, Justice in Mental Health Organization Drop-In, Charter House Clubhouse, and City Rescue Mission of Lansing frequently. I see a case manager and psychiatrist at Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties. A highlight of my schedule!
I give Smilie Tours if you want to be a part of what I do and I want to host another karaoke fellowship.
I serve in Children's Ministry, Welcome Team and Former Safety Team for Crossroads Church.
Jesus is important to me and comes before being "Lansing's #1 Fan of Local, State, Federal Security/Police."
