Travel! While traveling for work or for myself, I use Thinx. To My Fellow Menstruators: We can plot and plan, hope and wish, beg and plead…but our cycle will come no matter what life event we have planned.
So I would like to send a small plop of encouragement. Thank your body for being lovely. Then pull up your Thinx] , let your buns hang out, and keep living!
This month, I turned 40. Slept in a camper van in Iceland for 27 nights. And let my buns hang out at one of the most spectacular waterfalls I have ever felt energy from, Dynjandi in the West Fjords.
Please…always keep living. Take breaths.

This time last week, we took this photo. Standing under a waterfall after a night at a stunning Airbnb property.

My mother planned the trip. An absolutely wonderful, appreciated surprise.

Since being home, I have returned to this place in my mind to calm me, make me smile, and to remind myself that I am loved. Nature is a gift.

Make time in your life to stop and notice. The small beauties of this life really are what make it all worth living.

Dear Tampons-
You really have been lovely, for years. I have so deeply appreciated your coverage and support. However, from the beginning, I felt some red flags, but chose to ignore them because there were no other options. But now there are. You never quite fit my body with all its beautiful curves and ways that its shape is different from other women. We are all unique and you were more “one-size fits all”.

You often allowed leaks around the edges or down the string that left me in a slight panic when away from home without another tampon in my bag. Your support was wavering. I could see and feel it.

And then…the Earth. I really do care about this ball we are spinning around on and really, I don’t see that you do. You can be made from organic cotton, yet I still have to throw you out after a relatively short time of use to go liter the Earth somewhere I can no longer see you.

So tampons, I decided to make a change! I have to let you go. With line of mentrual underwear and line of bladder control underwear for when I age, because I am pushing 40 now, this just feels better.

These fit my body, with all its twists and turns! When needing to change them, I wash the underwear in the sink or wash on a gentle cycle, hang to dry, and use again. I think the Earth smiles a little with me every time I wash and hang! Feels like she’s saying “Ya lady, thanks for loving me a little today!”

Tampons…we will both be better for this, I promise. In this case, it’s not me, it is you! And I have to let you go. For younger uteruses just beginning to menstruate, they may never meet you tampons! is there to support them through all the awkwardness that a young body goes through!
