Those of us who have been lucky enough to spot whales or dolphins in their natural habitat know how magical those encounters always are - spotting a fin or a fluke after observing the surface of the ocean for hours is simply breathtaking.

Imagine seeing that and deciding to torture and kill these beautiful creatures instead of admiring them...

Health experts have warned that cetaceans contain dangerous levels of mercury, heavy metals and pollutants. A major peer reviewed study showed that whale and dolphin meat consumption has been linked to impaired cognition and has increased the risk of Parkinson's amongst Faroese residents.

In 2011, the Faroese Food and Veterinary Authority released a recommendation advising adults not to eat pilot whale more than once a month, and women and girls planning on having children to abstain entirely.

A few months ago tourists on a cruise ship watched in horror as dozens of pilot whales were murdered in front of their eyes during one of the Faroe Islands' traditional drive hunts.

We're calling on you to boycott the Faroe Islands as a travel destination until the government finally decides to ban this cruel practice.

Whales experience tremendous suffering and distress during the drive and subsequent slaughter. During the drive, the whales are frightened by the noise of the boats, the use of sonars, and the excited shouts of hunters. Once they are caught in the bay, their distress increases rapidly.

After the first whale is wounded, the cohesion of the herd is severely disrupted. Once the killing and wounding is taking place, the trauma of the whales increases significantly. The high-pitched squeaks and cries of the whales can be clearly heard as they are slaughtered.

Over 21,000 dolphins and whales have been slaughtered since the year 2000 in the Faroe Islands.

Pilot whales and white-sided dolphins are classified as protected species in the UK and EU -- with their waters situated only 200 miles from the shores of the Faroe Islands.

We all share one ocean. It’s time to take a stand against this modern-day brutality. Share our post and join the movement.

Due to the increase in ocean pollution since the industrial revolution – these harmful effects were not present centuries ago compared to today.

Methylmercury and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are known as the "quiet killers" and lead to high blood pressure and even Parkinson's disease. This threat to public health is yet another reason why whale meat has no place in our society today.

We are devastated to report that another Grind hunt has slaughtered 40-50 pilot whales this evening in the Faroes.

This evening marks the eighth hunt of 2023 and brings the yearly total to approximately 850 pilot whales.

We must make it loud and clear that the world is watching and no longer supports these acts of brutality.

Share this post and support the movement so we can pressure , Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands into placing a ban once and for all.

Dr. Pál Weihe has been a leading researcher and voicing concerns about the health risks associated with consuming whale meat for decades.

Due to the massive rise in ocean pollution since the industrial revolution – he warns that these toxic effects did not exist centuries ago, and are only getting worse today.

Methylmercury and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are the quiet killers which increase risk of hypertension, Parkinson’s disease.

The ‘Grindadráp’ dates back to 1584 and is the last remaining pilot whale drive in the world.

Countries with deep whaling history such as Scotland, Iceland, and Norway used to practice pilot-whale drives. However, they have since migrated away from the gruesome hunt with the advancements in technology and trade in the modern age.

It’s time we take action and create the pressure needed to end this cruel hunt. Share this post, sign the petition, and
