✈️ SOME EXCITING NEWS FROM ME ✈️

I am writing to let you know that after almost 15 years I am making a change and stepping out of my business as a Personal Travel Manager. I have been offered the opportunity & position with TravelManagers National Partnership Office as Business Partnership Manager for NSW/ACT which means I will now be supporting Personal Travel Managers across the State starting from today.

With my shift in role, I will no longer be booking travel, however when you are ready to travel next I would love to recommend you to one of my wonderful colleagues. Please feel free to email me on [email protected] & I will put you in touch with someone.

I would like to thank you all very much for your support over the years booking your travels through me. I have thoroughly enjoyed planning your amazing trips! That feeling after helping get a visa approved last minute for a young guy flying out today. He had booked everything online & made an error on his original application. Very grateful for our treasured supplier who helped come to the rescue. Happy travels! ✈️🌏🙏

🌍✈️🥂 Today marks my 25 Year Anniversary of working within the travel industry. Yes, I was around when we hand wrote air tickets! 😅

From a young documentation clerk for Trafalgar Tours at the old Manly office where I met many fabulous colleagues that I am still in contact with today, a Contiki Tour Director in Australia, a BDM for Insight Vacations, Group Sales Manager at Scenic, National Sales Manager & Journey Director for Bill Peach Journeys and now almost 15 years with TravelManagers, what a ride.

Looking forward to many more fulfilling years within the industry setting people off on journey’s of a lifetime with that security & confidence of having someone as back up along the way 🌍✈️🥂

So proud to belong to a fabulous company. Last night the National Travel Industry Awards returned after a three year hiatus and it was wonderful to gather a 1200 strong crowd of dedicated people from airlines to ground suppliers, training organisations, travel advisors and more. It was a back to back win for us in the Most Outstanding Mobile Advisor Network category and this award is thanks to every single person at our National Partnership Office and 420 personal travel managers across the country! 💙🧡💛💚

Whilst I’ve been traveling around Australia the last 4 months to some remote locations I have been surprised at where I have had mobile reception available. This has made working on the road that bit easier. I also have 2 lovely fellow Personal Travel Managers on hand in case of emergencies & back up for my clients.

Our current campsite at Notch Point, QLD (south of Mackay near Cape Palmerston) has no reception but I’m proud to say I drove up a pretty rugged 4WD track myself to get reception & some work done at this spot on the hill. Here’s my view 🙌🇦🇺🌴

Loving this space. Check out my remote office in Alice Springs. I discovered the adults only reading room at the caravan park & am enjoying the space to catch up on work. It’s not all play on our travels, especially being away for over 4 months. Keeping the work life balance in check though 💻✈️👏

I arrived in Uluru yesterday & on my 6th visit here, this place still takes my breath away & we even got to see rain on “The Rock” today.

We’re staying at Voyages Sails in the Desert. I’ve also had the opportunity to look at the Desert Gardens Hotel and dine at each. It’s all looking fabulous & more staff have arrived in the last couple of weeks so the service levels have been wonderful.

Flying with a toddler: My little girl finally got to experience her first flight last week ✈️

This was met with a lot of mixed emotions!!! From nerves & her telling me she didn’t want to fly to much excitement when at the airport. Once in the air she told me she loves flying more than driving. She must be my girl! ❤️

Here are some tips I’ve learnt over the years for flying with young ones:
✅ Keep reassuring them (& yourself) that it will all be ok. I’ve had many nervous parents pre travel with their children & have now learnt about the nerves the little ones get too.
✅ Wear them out pre flight if you have an active little one like my daughter. We did laps of the airport checking everything out rather than sitting at the lounge before sitting on the plane
✅ Pack plenty of activities. Some new colouring books & crayons worked a treat for my girl. For long flights I’ve heard of parents who have small inexpensive gifts wrapped up that their child unwraps each hour of the flight that generally included an activity/craft for them to keep entertained all flight.
✅ Take snacks for the trip as they won’t always like the food inflight
✅ Take a lollipop 🍭 &/or their drink bottle (which you may have to fill after security) to help their ears on take off & landing
✅ If on a late afternoon/evening flight, dress them in their pj’s so the transition at the other end is easier
✅ Pack a change of clothes or 2 for those little mishaps including an extra top for yourself
✅ Dress them in layers or have a warm top ready as it can be quite cool on planes
✅ Electronic devices can help keep them entertained with their favourite shows / games preloaded
✅ Check-in as much luggage as you can to keep your hands free whilst at airports & flying. Most airlines allow an extra piece or 2 to be checked in for infants & children. We even checked in our car seat ready for the car on the other end.
✅ Pre order a baby/children’s meal where meals are included inflight & a bassinet for smaller infants

I can’t wait for our next adventures with our girl! Oh the places we’ll go…… 👧🛫🌏

I couldn’t be happier to see this photo & another of my client sitting onboard the Etihad plane at Sydney airport about to depart for Europe with a glass of champagne in hand.

It was definitely a process to ensure all the correct documentation & new travel requirements were met before departure but I hope that I made it that little bit easier for her. I was there to assist right up to check-in tonight & am so happy to see her sitting back relaxing now. To me that is what being a Personal Travel Manager is about.

I’m excited today to have my first client depart for the US in over 22 months. All went smoothly at check-in at Sydney airport this morning. I was able to assist them in making sure they had all the correct documents in order before arriving at the airport. Farewell QF 747’s. Happy retirement old girl.
I’ll miss these beauties. It was beautiful day to watch part of the fly over Mt Kosciuszko & our beautiful snowy mountains back in to our capital today! She was at 13000ft so a little hard to see in the pics.
