Feeling blessed!

Max and I can’t thank everyone enough for the friendships and experiences we are fortunate to have. It’s the combination of people and place that make life feel special.

We appreciate all of our friends who just make the adventures that much better!

Lots of people love to ice fish. . . And lots of people ride there “ski” to their favorite spot. The only difference is our “ski” is good for year round transport.

Thankful for a great network of friends who enjoy the 4 seasons of passionate riding! Great day on the water!

Something different. It’s a water tractor for your boat and getting it to beach. Anybody else seen this before?

Day 1 stop:

“In the end, it may not be super easy to reach Lime Island Recreation Area. But what you’ll find when you arrive far surpasses the challenges that it takes to get there. Find a way to visit, you’ll be glad you did.”

Here is a quote directly from the DNR about Lime Island, let’s just say Michigans most remote state park. This adventure is becoming more real as time goes by. Putting together more and more meaning into our trip every day.

Thank you all for contacting me about this adventure. We look forward to our first group call tomorrow night!

Lime Island Recreation Area - accessible only by boat - is perfect for renting a cabin or pitching a tent in a peaceful, natural setting.

We are stopping at three of the eight islands on the list during our trip around the U.P.

Exciting to learn about the history of some of these places as the trip gets closer! 👍

Keep the island adventures going long after the last ferry leaves for the day.

Here are route and planning details for the upcoming trip. Going to be EPIC!

Grand U.P. Island Tour -Sea Doo Adventure!

UPDATE: I Created an event on the Great Lakes Ski Riders Page so we can all coordinate in one place. Feel free to check out more details and logistics of the ride in the event page!

Max and I are at it again; we are excited to announce our epic U.P. Island 3-day Sea Doo Adventure in July 2023. I've shared the details of the route and plan below. We are looking for like-minded people who may want to join for part or all of this planned adventure.

Support
I have a support person who will follow on land driving a truck/trailer and meet at the destination to help get us out at night. If others want to join, we can discuss logistics and what days you can join.

Planned Time
Currently planning on making the trip on July 13-15. With the flexibility of leaving a day early or later for better weather. Back up weekend due to bad weather is the following week July 20-22.

Day 1
Mackinaw City to Sault Ste. Marie
This epic 125-mile adventure takes us from beautiful Mackinaw City past the iconic 5-mile bridge to the island of fudge and horses. From there we will visit St Ignas before hitting the southern shoreline heading east 20 miles in Lake Huron. After visiting remote Marquette Island, we will visit the Detour Reef and Drummand Island for lunch and fuel. We then travel north up the St Mary's River and into the shipping channels. We can't wait to visit Lume Island and some unique small Michigan Communities. We will finally arrive in Sault Saint Marie and enjoy a night's rest.

Day 2
Sault Ste. Marie to Munising
This is our longest travel day and most remote at about 165 miles. Heading out of Sault Ste. Marie and past East Sand Island we now are in Lake Supierior our deepest and biggest Great Lake! We will head west to Waska bay and stop at Bay mills Casino for a lucky roll. Heading north then west again our next stop is Iroquis Island Nature Preserve then Emerson at the mouth of the Tahquamenon River. We will explore the Tehquamenon for a while and fuel up before our trip around Whitefish Point. Passing the downed Edmond will be nostalgic as we head on our most remote leg of 45 miles before reaching Grand Marais. Heading west we will pass the iconic Pictured Rocks National Lake shore before hitting Grand Island and our final Lake Superior destination Munising.

Day 3
Manistique to Beaver Island to Mackinaw
After a nights rest and short drive south we will launch from Manistique on the southern portion of U.P. on Lake Michigan for our 100-mile journey to Beaver Island and back to Mackinaw. We will take off from Manistique and head east along the U.P. coastline until we get to the Seul Choix Point Lighthouse. From there it's a 25-mile open water crossing to Beaver Island and Saint James Harbor. After getting fuel and lunch, we will continue east past Garden and Hog Islands and across 22 miles of open water to Waugoshance Island and Sturgeon Bay. From there we travel the northern coast of Lake Michigan back to Mackinaw ending our adventure by passing under the Mackinaw Bridge.

Experience Needed
I would LOVE for others to join me on this trip and can help coordinate logistics. This trip is no joke and is considered extreme on a Sea Doo/PWC. We will ride 400 miles in 3 days in an extremely remote territory. The lake is below 50 degrees in temperature, and the shoreline is rocky. Some stops have almost 50 miles between the safety of harbors. There are no towing services available only Coast Guard.

I will wear a personal emergency locator beacon in case of need and carry an additional 15 gallons of fuel for the trip with me on my ski. You will need a rack to carry extra fuel and an attitude of adventure and exploration. The trip will be documented via GoPro, drone, and phone. We can't wait to make this epic adventure and hope others can join.

HELP APPRECIATED!
Just so you know, if you live in or around any of our destinations, we would love to have people to meet and mingle with. If you have a favorite restaurant or a place to crash for the night, Max and I would appreciate sharing in this adventure with our PWC community. Looking forward to exploring the U.P. and meeting the locals!

Any advice on Points of Interest from experienced locals is helpful and wanted; we are ecstatic about making this adventure come true.if enough people are interested I have access to a 4 place trailer to help us navigate
