Okay….so most of y’all know by now that I’m a greedy butt and I love to eat! 😋 What I love even more are unique culinary experiences, beautiful presentations and unconventional flavors and textures paired together. has been around for quite a while, but for some reason I haven’t been able to visit until now. I was wowed by things I didn’t even know I needed in life like sweet potato gnocchi, shiitake mushroom wontons and warm old fashioned banana pudding with a toasted marshmallow whip topping! We were doing happy dances in our chairs the entire meal! 😆🤤

Let’s talk about how awesome the cocktails were: the 11th Labor and Sailor’s Damsel were exceptional! (Too bad we couldn’t sample all the cocktails…it was a work night) Can’t show up to the Zoom meetings sauced the next am. 😏

The food, the cocktails, the service and the staff all amazing!! We will be checking them out again next quarter when their menu rotates with the season change! 🙌🏾⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fun fact about me: I LOVE strawberries! I mean love them! Everything has to be strawberry flavored. I don’t even buy strawberries from certain stores because I’m such a berry snob. 😂🤷🏾‍♀️ But these….these berries here….Iiiiii think I’m gonna binge tonight on them! 😛😋 The strawberry shortcake with strawberry and/or peach ice cream is a must try! 10 Tips for booking the perfect “Getaway” experience - Chattahoochee edition:

1. Make sure you keep an eye on the weather reports for the area before departing and while you’re there.

2. To make this adventure budget friendly, be sure to pack your own snacks, coffee, tea, and firewood. Getaway provides these things, but for a fee.

3. At this particular property, there were no microwaves! The only way to cook is on the 2 burner stove in the cabin or over the campfire.

4. The bathrooms are super cozy (read: tiny!) You’ve been warned!

5. Something about being in nature sparked my creativity. Be sure to bring lots of books, a journal, your camera, games and arts & crafts for the kids.

6. These cabins are designed to be a calming getaway for solo travelers, couples and small families. I don’t recommend coming there with a large group of friends for a big turnup.

7. At this location, there are one bed and two bed (bunk bed) cabins available. The one bed cabin can comfortably accommodate 2 people and the two bed ones can accommodate 4.

8. Don’t leave your trash outside. You’ll attract coyotes and bears!

9. Make sure you fully extinguish your campfire every night. Smokey The Bear will come find you!

10. Don’t forget: on your drive up or drive home, there are a few scenic areas where you can pull off to get some great mountain and lake pics!

Whitewater rafting is something that I initially wasn’t sure I’d enjoy, but I was wrong! It’s an exhilarating experience and pretty refreshing treat if you go on a hot summer’s day.

If you ever wanted to know what pure excitement/slight terror/exhilaration looks like on me, have fun swiping. 🤣🤦🏾‍♀️ That water looked unassuming observing it from the banks, but once we got going I realized that it was waaay rougher and faster flowing than it appeared! 😳 Shoutout to that rouge cameraman who captured it all! 🤙🏾

As comes to a close, I think about that time I snorkeled with sharks in Belize! 😱😨 It was a pretty freaky (but beautiful!) experience. Their skins felt weird brushing up against mine. 😐

Can’t say I’d like to try it again at this point in life. Oh, the crazy things you do in your 20’s! 🥴😶😂😂 And yes, I prayed suuuuper hard before diving into that water! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😆 😄 @ Belize City, Belize

Its and I present to you....some of the finest culinary delights that Martha’s Vineyard has to offer! MV is know for many cool & well known eateries such as Nancy’s Restaurant & Snack Bar, The Black Dog Tavern and Backdoor Donuts. Literally every dish I had was delicious!

Fun Foodie Facts & deets:

🦞 Nancy’s Restaurant & Snack Bar is where Sasha Obama, the youngest daughter of former president Barack & Michelle Obama, would work summers while the family was visiting the island for their annual summer vacation. I tried their hot lobster roll and it was delicious!

🦞 Back Door Donuts had the hottest and freshest donuts that were served....you guessed it: from their back door entrance! The line is usually wrapped for blocks, so if you ever plan on going, find out when they start serving up fresh batches and go early! Oh, and they do sell out every single time! 🍩

🦞 Coop de Ville had a pretty amazing fried lobster tail! 😋

🦞 The Seafood Shanty has the freshest whole lobster that I’ve ever tasted! It was reasonably priced in my opinion as well. Their cold lobster roll was amazing! I definitely will be returning here! ✅

🦞 Red Cat Kitchen is where we actually spotted the Obamas having dinner! I had a seared scallop & grits dish that was divine! 👌🏾*chef’s kiss*

🦞 Biscuits is a awesome little breakfast spot! They have great made to order breakfast sandwiches made with fresh buttermilk biscuits. This is another spot that will have a line and will sell out if you don’t arrive early! ☀️

🦞 Fat Ronnie’s had great burgers, sandwiches and hot dogs! So delicious after partying the night away at the annual white party held by Spike Lee at Lola’s! 🙌🏾

Tuesday’s travel tip: Always pack a few empty Ziploc bags of various sizes!

I learned the hard way while traveling to China that you always want to pack your liquid toiletries in Ziploc bags, because the flight pressure changes will cause your bottles to build pressure and come open or explode! My bottle of hair moisturizer got allllllllll over every single item in my suitcase! 😩😣😭

I always try to bring a jumbo Ziploc bag, along with some gallon sized and quart sized ones. They’ve come in handy for dirty clothes, muddy/paint stained carnival shoes or a wet bathing suit that didn’t have time to fully dry. ✅

You can also use the large ones to wrap bottles or wine or liquor to minimize the impact of bumping and the gallon or quart sized ones to keep your electronics dry.

Extra tip: The jumbo Ziploc bags can be hard to find but I’ve spotted them at and 😉
