Okay, you can’t actually stay at Hearst Castle…but doing the Upstairs Suites Tour is the next best thing! ✨
On this small group tour, you’ll go through Casa Grande to see multiple libraries, many of the guest rooms, and William Hearst’s own suite.
You’ll also see the incredibly cool Celestial Suite, which is up in one of the castle’s bell towers! Of course, you’ll go by the two famous Hearst Castle pools, as well.
Planning a Hearst Castle trip? I highly recommend starting with the Grand Rooms Tour, and then doing the Upstairs Suites Tour after!
The first tour is a great introduction to Hearst and the property, while the second tour dives into more detail on what it’s like to actually live and stay in the castle.

If you’re planning a Cambria trip, make sure you stop by Fiscalini Ranch Preserve!
This 430-acre natural preserve is easily the best place to go hiking in Cambria.
It has miles of interconnected walking and biking trails that go along the coastal bluffs and through pine and oak tree forests.
As you walk through the preserve, you’ll also see these super cool hand-crafted wooden benches – perfect for resting for a moment and taking in the views!
A few key things to know:
⇢ Fiscalini Ranch Preserve is free to visit!
⇢ It is open daily from sunrise to sunset
⇢ The Bluff Trail (easy, less than a mile long) is a must-do if you want to stroll along the coast. For a longer walk around the whole preserve, connect it to the SeaClift, Dolphin, and Ridge Trails!
⇢ The Marine Terrace and Bluff Trails are both ADA accessible

If you want to explore more of what Los Angeles has to offer in 2025, plan a visit to Hollyhock House (located at the Barnsdall Art Park)!
This Frank Lloyd Wright-designed house was built between 1918 and 1921, and was his first LA commission.
Today, you can go on a self-guided tour to walk through the (very well-maintained!) property.
Reservations do book up and the schedule is fairly limited, so be sure to reserve your timed-entry tickets in advance online!
After your tour, spend some time at Barnsdall Art Park. You get incredible views of Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood Sign!
