⇢ Cultura Comida y Bebida - the plantain tacos were perfection, and their cocktails are seriously good. A must if you (like me!) love tequila and/or mezcal!

⇢ Nicolas Cocina de Herencia - this ended up being my favorite meal in Carmel! The maitake birria (which is vegan!) was insanely delicious (and the portion was BIG - I recommend splitting with a friend!)

⇢ Alvarado Street Brewery - I really loved their tempura artichoke sandwich! There are a ton of fancier restaurants in Carmel, but this is the perfect spot for a more casual meal.

⇢ Toro Sushi - this cute restaurant came highly recommended, and is the place to visit if you’re craving sushi!

⇢ El Cantaro Monterey - a fully vegan Mexican restaurant! A great eatery for a casual lunch while exploring Monterey.

Side note: Cultura, Nicolas, Alvarado, and El Cantaro are all must-visits if you’re looking for vegan food in Carmel and the surrounding area! Carmel isn’t exactly a vegan hot spot, but there are some really amazing options.

Spent a sunny Friday afternoon in beautiful Carmel listening to some live music while enjoying a flight of wine at Folktale’s wine garden!

If you go, get some salt & vinegar potatoes to snack on (they say it pairs great with their 2023 sauvignon blanc. I say it pairs great with everything).
