📣 Important Announcement 📣

Effectively immediately, I will no longer be a travel agent with Second Story Travel. I have had so much fun working in the travel industry, but it's time for me to take a step back for a while.

I joined Second Story Travel two years ago during the height of COVID, and while I've had a great time, lately I just don't have as much time as I had back then. For those that don't know, in addition to this job I also work a full time job as an environmental educator, and things are back in full swing and it's become a challenge to juggle both jobs.

So, I want to thank all of you for your support and engagement over the past two years! If you have travel booked with me, I will continue to service your travel - I just won't be taking on any new bookings.

If you're looking for a new travel agent for future trips, I would love to recommend any of the FANTASTIC agents with Second Story! They are all incredible at what they do and you can't go wrong with any of them. 💙

The BRAND NEW restaurant at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Roundup Rodeo BBQ, opens on March 23!

This fun table-service restaurant in Toy Story Land features barbeque and all the fixins, surrounded by amazing theming and artwork of some of our favorite toys.

Dates to begin making reservations haven't been announced yet, but I'm watching closely so I can try to snag one!

French Market Restaurant at Disneyland will be reimagined into Tiana’s Palace, the newest restaurant on Orleans Street, later this year! Tiana’s Palace will have much of the same pinch of pizzazz and flair as the restaurant from the film, offering authentic New Orleans flavors inspired by Tiana’s friends and adventures in this quick-service style restaurant. The hits just keep coming!!

Today, Universal announced a brand new park coming to Frisco, TX! According to them, "the new park concept, set in a lush green landscape and featuring immersive themed lands, celebrates Universal’s iconic brand of entertainment, humor and innovation and brings to life its beloved characters and stories in ways that will wow even the youngest theme park goers."

How exciting!

JUST ANNOUNCED: Universal Parks & Resorts plans to bring a new concept for families with young children to Frisco, Texas!

🥰 Well Disney is just on a roll today with the GOOD news!

🚗 Beginning TONIGHT, Jan. 10, overnight self-parking will once again be offered complimentary to guests staying at Disney Resort hotels at Walt Disney World! What?! I am SO excited to see the FREE parking come back for Disney Resort guests!

📷 Also: Attraction photo downloads will be included with Disney Genie+ service soon: Beginning in the next few months, guests purchasing Disney Genie+ service will also receive digital downloads of their Disney PhotoPass attraction photos, taken in the park on the day of their purchase, at no additional charge.
✨ This won't take the place of Memory Maker, but will be a great perk of getting your ride photos included if you purchase Genie+.

I am SO excited about all of these changes!

I have BIG, exciting news!

Second Story Travel was invited by Disney Destinations into their exclusive Earmarked program at the Gold level for our outstanding sales, excellent customer service, and incredible knowledge of Disney vacations.

Second Story Travel was founded in June 2020, when the world and travel was still on lockdown. But this did not stop us from dreaming BIG and achieving those dreams.

I am so excited to share that Second Story Travel is now an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner.

It's been an amazing couple of years and we are excited for an even more magical 2023 because, after all, anticipation is half the fun! 🥳

Today there was a lot of sleeping, and a lot of time in the cafe 😴

This is our last night on the Summit and I'm very sad to go! Thankfully I'll be back on board in just over a month for a different itinerary, and I'm already counting down the days.

Wish I could have this coffee everyday!

Ended my night with dinner in the Main Dining Room and cake delivered via room service 😌

If you don't want to pay extra for specialty dining, no worries! There is PLENTY of good food included in your cruise fare!
Celebrity has really delicious food options, and tonight I got the chicken breast and John got beef wellington. Duck and lobster were also on tonight's menu!

When I was too tired to wait for dessert, I came back to my room, ordered dessert from the room service menu, and got comfy until it arrived. It only took about 10 minutes, and it was free! It's a great option when you're sleepy or feeling lazy, like I often am 😅

Cozumel was so beautiful 😍

You know the water temperature is good when I walk straight in without slowing down (I'm a chicken when it comes to cold water!)

The water was clear, warm, and beautiful, and the salty sea air energized my soul. The ocean is my happy place and this was just what I needed. 💙

¡Hola Cozumel! 🏖️

Today we're docked in Cozumel, Mexico! John and I spent the morning on a shore excursion, which gave us the opportunity to snorkel, kayak, and check out the beach. We also tried some tacos and guacamole, and it was all delicious 🤤

To my friends and loved ones at home, I'm sorry you have to see this since I know it's like 30° there right now 😂

So far, today has been a lazy day 😴

Regular life has been kind of crazy lately so it's really nice to be able to relax, catch up on sleep, and indulge in yummy treats.

One thing I look forward to on Celebrity ships is their coffee shop, Café al Bacio. It serves delicious specialty coffee and tea, and if you purchase a beverage package they're included!

My favorite drink is the chocolate Iglu, their version of a frappuccino. I've had three of them so far, and I have no regrets 😂

Tonight's dinner was at Tuscan Grille, a specialty Italian restaurant. 🍝

Specialty dining is an added cost, but they usually do a discount on the first night so we took advantage of that!

Pro Tip: you can make dining reservations ahead of your trip on the app or the website. If no reservations are available, go to the restaurant when you board the ship and ask! They were able to get us in tonight with no problems.

If you come here, order the crab cake as an appetizer. You won't be disappointed! 🦀

We spent our pre-cruise night at the lovely Marriott Villas at Doral. 🏩

This hotel, a member of the Marriott Vacation Club, features villas with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a pull out sofa, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer. This would be the perfect place to stay for a family trip!

I was really impressed with this hotel and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a place to stay in Miami. It's about 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from Port Miami. They also have a restaurant and bar, spa, pool, and daily activities on site.

Next stop: Port Miami! ⛴️

We made it! 🛬

The wind is picking up and it's raining pretty hard, but so far it's nothing crazy. I think we're far enough south that we shouldn't see too much action, and I hope there is no serious damage produced anywhere.

No matter the weather, I'm just glad to be back in Florida! I can't wait to get on the cruise ship tomorrow 😍🌴

We're on our way! 🛫

The last 24 hours have been a little crazy! Originally we weren't leaving Chicago until 5pm, but with Tropical Storm Nicole moving in, we figured we ought to try to arrive a little sooner. Thankfully American Airlines was able to accommodate us at no extra charge, and we're on a 7am flight to Miami! We did have to leave Decatur at 2am though 😅

Situations like this are why I always always ALWAYS tell clients to arrive a day early for all cruises. You just never know what's going to happen!

I can't wait to be in Florida 😍
