Whenever we meet problems along the way, our initial response is to go for human solutions rather than divine solutions. We try to fix it by ourselves or rely on others’ strength and wisdom. Often times, we look to our left and right before we look up to God.
We draw strength from mere flesh instead of putting our trust and confidence in Him. We forget that the LORD is good, that He is a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows those who take refuge in Him (Nah. 1:7). Yes, He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him (2 Sam. 22:31).
The apostle Paul mentioned that affliction makes us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead (2 Cor 1:8-9).
You see, our great and mighty God desires us to rely on Him and not on ourselves. We may have that competency and numerous skills and talents BUT we are not that powerful as God to resurrect anyone. We are not here to carry our burdens all by ourselves and rely on our limited capacity. There is nothing we can do that will make us good enough here on earth much more in heaven.
But because of God’s love and compassion, He sent His only Son Jesus Christ, who took away our sins and restored that broken relationship between Him and us, His people.
And this same God is willing to help us day by day through His Spirit in us, to be like Christ who has endured all sufferings unimaginable so that He will be glorified in the end.
My prayer is that in times of hopelessness, may we remember that we are not alone. Let us always choose to cast all our worries and heartaches to the One who cares for us the most. After all,
is anything too hard for Him?

Can any of you add a single hour to your life by worrying?
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentle spirit be known to all people. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
