Fun Fact Friday!

Did you know you don't have to wait for a scheduled beach cleanup to Leave It Better in PWS?

You can pick up free yellow ALPAR bags at locations in Whittier (the Harbormaster's office, Alaska Sea Kayakers, and Lazy Otter Cafe). If you can't pack out the debris--say you're on a kayak and just cannot fit that big hunk of styrofoam anywhere--stash it above the high tide line, snap a photo and grab GPS coordinates, and reach out to us and coordinate a pickup through our network.

Thanks for Leaving It Better!

Hey, hey! It’s the first of May and the Whittier Bay Campground is open today! 🥳

Camping is available on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be paid for at the Harbormaster’s office.

The bathrooms are open, but for your trash, please pack out what you packed in! We promise, those empty cans you’re leaving with are very much lighter than the full ones you brought 😉
