This is the cat Hortensia in my bedroom window. I'm not one for cats but I like this one. She just turned up at our house one sunny day, pregnant and hungry. Since then she's stayed. She keeps to herself but my favourite thing about her is she has no interest in killing birds or bats if she's stayed out all night. Not once. However she is particularly cruel to tiny fieldmice. That said, whenever we hear a scuttle in the house somewhere she is sent in and my mother is wholeheartedly grateful.

"We've had a lovely time at this beautiful house. It feels so warm and inviting. It doesn't hurt that we've been incredibly lucky with the weather.
Enjoyed meeting Rosa and felt so happy to be in the midst of all this green luscious area, with lots of peace and quiet.
Thank you for your hospitality and kindness. Hope to have another opportunity to come back and will definitely recommend the place to anyone coming to the area"

I took a while off social media. The saying "when it rains it pours" really is true when it comes to bad news. Covid got into our overseas family and broke our hearts. That and a generally tough time meant some respite was needed.

Sometimes the only thing for it is social & personal hibernation, fresh air and when you're ready, nature has a way of reminding you that life goes on and so must we.

As the brightest colours fade from the flower beds its nice to see the colours from seasons past.
