If you are planning a trip to Rome, What Are the New Rules for the Trevi Fountain?

Limited Capacity: To protect the Trevi Fountain and reduce overcrowding, authorities have capped the number of visitors at 400 at a time. This ensures a more peaceful and immersive experience for everyone.

Controlled Entry and Exit: To streamline foot traffic, visitors must now enter via the central staircase and exit near Via dei Crociferi. This reduces congestion and makes the site easier to navigate.

Adjusted Hours: The fountain is open daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with the last entry at 8:30 PM. However, on Mondays and Fridays, the opening is delayed until 11:00 AM to accommodate the collection of coins from the basin. These coins, amounting to over a million euros annually, are donated to local charities.

Our trip is in the books. Firenze, Pienza, Bagno Vignoni, Perugia, Parma, Dolomiti (Alta Badia). Not as crazy as it sounds. Spent several nights at each location and day trips / hikes. We also saw things between locations to make the most of our travel days.
