The oldest continuously operating saloon in America is 170 feet from our front door.

The Horse opened in 1775, Edgar Allan Poe had his last drink here in 1849, and Martha Grimes wrote a murder mystery named after and featuring the bar in 1993 (you'll find the book in the Gem library).

And be on the lookout for Poe! You'll find him around the house, like in the Rec Room, where he'd like nothing more than to open your beer (with a wall decoration from our friends and neighbors at Su Casa).

Our HUGE painting of Fell's Point depicts historic Thames Street in the 1800s, showcasing what is now Daily Grind, Prima Dopo, Thames Street Oyster House, Cat's Eye Pub, , The Point in Fells, Sanctuary Body, and Penny Black (from left to right).

Created by legendary Baltimore Screen Painter, Charlie Bowman, it is likely the piece was originally commissioned in the 1970s for a local bank. When the branch closed, it was gifted to an employee, and in 2017 was recovered from an estate sale. It now serves as the most prominent piece of art in the property!
