"Our industry has such a vital role to play and not just on an economic front but on people's general wellbeing. From airlines/aviation companies, travel agents/tour operators, lodges/hotels, tour guides, pesky sales reps to travel associations... We are each responsible in some way for creating and fulfilling people's dreams... Dreams of escape, dreams of exploring, experiencing unknown places. In fact, our role is more important now than before, as people have realised how they may have taken the practice of travel for granted. We may not perform heart surgery but we can mend jaded hearts and souls with travel-inspired beauty, natural wonders and life-changing experiences. Whether it's a weekend getaway or a once-in-a-lifetime holiday, we are the dream makers. We inspire, we nurture, we guide, we care, we find a way! It is tough now but resilience is in our roots and we will forge our own path through this. I feel blessed to be part of this industry and while we may never be in contention for Nobel prizes and million-dollar bank accounts, I don't think we should ever underestimate how we matter and how amazing it is to be in an industry such as ours."

La bellissima recensione che mi ha appena mandato Lucia Clerici che - insieme al resto della sua bellissima famiglia - è appena tornata da un viaggio in Namibia organizzato da noi - grazie Lucia !:
"Namibia in sicurezza
Viaggio in famiglia programmato per l’estate 2020 ma rimandato per la situazione sanitaria all’estate 2021; tanti i dubbi e le perplessità prima della partenza, svaniti all’arrivo a Windhoek quando ci siamo resi conto che il distanziamento è cosa comunque naturale. Abbiamo viaggiato per due settimane incrociando poche auto e soggiornando in lodge, tutti di buon livello, che adottano le misure di contenimento (sanificazione, mascherine, pasti serviti al tavolo). Ci siamo pertanto sentiti molto più sicuri che a casa o nei nostri luoghi di villeggiatura.
Abbiamo potuto godere degli immensi panorami namibiani, dove la natura è padrona: il Kalahari, Sossusvlei e le dune del Namib, Walvisbaii e Sandwich Harbour, il Daramaland e lo spettacolare Grootberg Pass; l’Etosha da ovest a est, i progetti di conservazione dei ghepardi al Cheetah Conservation Fund.
Animali liberi ovunque, una compagnia costante nel nostro viaggio. Molte le attività nel programma: il safari dell’alba sulle dune rosse del Kalahari, la visita guidata a Dead Vlei e la scalata di “Big Daddy”, l’uscita in kayak tra le orarie a Pelican Point e l’escursione in Jeep sulle dune di Sandwich Harbour (un ringraziamento a Hans di Atlantic desert tours), la visita guidata alle iscrizioni di Twyfelfontein, il safari alla ricerca degli elefanti del deserto al Grootberg e i safari guidati in Etosha.
Marta ci ha accompagnato con professionalità e competenza in tutte le fasi del nostro viaggio: nella pianificazione dell’itinerario venendo incontro alle nostre richieste e rispondendo a tutti i nostri dubbi, durante le due settimane tracciando i nostri spostamenti e messaggiandoci giornalmente per indicazioni e suggerimenti. Pur essendo una destinazione sicura per un self-drive ed avendo pianificato in anticipo attività e spostamenti, è stato rassicurante sapere di avere qualcuno su cui poter contare in ogni evenienza, dalla riparazione della gomma bucata, al ritiro degli esiti dei tamponi, a dove fermarsi per pranzare … Ci ha addirittura raggiunti in Etosha per condividere con noi una giornata di safari.
Sicuramente consiglieremo ad amici e conoscenti Katika Safari per l’esperienza e la preparazione di Marta."

La Namibia è un posto meraviglioso e super sicuro dove il virus che ha messo il mondo in ginocchio è quasi inesistente visti gli spazi immensi e la popolazione minima.
