Hereโ€™s a breakdown of how much I spent and saved on a ski weekend. These prices were for two!

๐Ÿ› hotel (paid $0, saved $4,603)
We stayed at the for 3 nights for 83k Hyatt points! Since it was paid with points, the resort fees were waived. Valet parking, usually $55 per night, was included! The hotel stay would have cost $4,603 ๐Ÿ˜ฑ due to the skiing season.

โœˆ๏ธ flights (paid $694)
We paid for Economy RT flights from DTW to DEN. We prefer to fly Delta since DTW is a hub. Without any co-branded cards. We considered transferring MR or UR to Virgin Atlantic (a Delta partner), but there were no award flights available for our dates so we opted to pay with a new credit card to meet the minimum spend!

๐Ÿณ๐Ÿท food & bev (paid $123, saved $235)
We enjoyed free in-room breakfasts (usually $80-90) complimentary of my Hyatt Globalist status. We also packed bread, deli meats, and chili from home to have for lunch and dinner! We spent on hot cocoa, drinks at the bar, and snacks from the market.

๐Ÿš— rental car + gas + parking (paid $199, saved $300)
We used the annual $300 credit from toward the rental car and paid the remainder of $41. We opted to park our car long-term ($27/day) because this would have been cheaper than getting two taxis. Although valet parking at the hotel was free, we tipped $5 every time car keys were exchanged.

๐Ÿงณ luggage fees (paid $0, saved $200)
I used my $200 incidental credits to cover the cost of checking in two ski bags and a large suitcase.

โ›ท activities (paid $105)
This is our second year with the and this trip has almost paid it off! If it werenโ€™t for the pass we would have paid over $200/per person per day for the ski lift. However, we went to an immersive art museum in Denver before our flight home! Admission was the costliest expense of the entire trip ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ’ธ summary
Retail Cost: $6,603
Paid: $1,120

We saved 83% off the retail cost, and 65% off the โ€œtrue costโ€ (what we would have paid with cash)
