🦕 3 WAYS TO DISCOVER DINOSAURS 🦖 The Compton Bay area of Isle of Wight is renowned for its prehistoric footprints, and if you take a walk to Hanover Point, you’ll see some of the 300 recorded foot casts across the beach. The best time to see them is at low tide!

For even more dinosaur fun you can join one of the many Compton Bay Fossil Walks run by the National Trust. You’ll go on an hour-long walk with a guide for just £5 per adult and £3 for children.

There’s also a dinosaur museum located on the island, and you can bring your findings into the museum, where the experts will tell you what you found.

It’s the season for frosty walks in the countryside, finished with a warm welcome and a cosy fire at the ! ✨❄️

Work up an appetite with a walk around their farmland, then head to the restaurant to enjoy a festive afternoon tea, a rustic Sunday roast, or try their new winter menu with the sounds of local jazz on the first Sunday of the month.

Calling all sauna lovers…Tapnell Farm is bringing a taste of Finland to our beautiful countryside this winter, opening the first floating sauna on the Isle of Wight, right on the lake at Tapnell!

With two wood-fired saunas, a floating sauna, lake views, a 10ft iced water tank, salt scrubs, showers, a changing area and free parking, it’s the perfect escape for some ‘me’ time with friends and family while staying here at the beach holiday home.

Take a scenic walk through Headon Warren at this time of year and you’ll see the vibrant purple heather that cover the landscape. In the golden hours of autumn, the blooming heather glows like nothing else I’ve seen - it’s really something!

Headon Warren sits right at the western tip of the Island and has a circular trail that leads you past historical landmarks and breathtaking panoramic views of The Needles and Poole Bay. The perfect afternoon for nature lovers and history hunters! 🌿💜🗺️

One of my favourite things about being on a tiny island is that, wherever you are, you’re never far from the ocean and a beautiful sea view. 🩵⚓️

I can be 100% sure that nobody loves golf more than my husband 🤣, but like this recent guest, if you too like to get away for a round ⛳️, the Isle of Wight has so many great courses.

The closest course to our beach holiday home is Browns Golf, and Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club, but head a little further north west of the island and you’ll find the beautiful Westridge Gold centre. With seven golf clubs spread around the Island, in stunning locations, plus a driving range, you won’t run out of places to tee off!

When styling our beach holiday home, I wanted each room to reflect the natural beauty of the Island. The samphire room is still one of my favourites in the house, because of its earthy feel and the sense of calm it brings.
