⭐️ Wilderness Lodge 🌲🦅

This resort is absolutely beautiful!! It has a National Park grand lodge of the early 1900s

🏨 Location: Magic Kingdom area 🏰

🗺 Size: The Wilderness Lodge resort encompasses the main hotel, plus two Disney Vacation Club Villa areas. The main hotel has over 700 rooms. The Wilderness Lodge DVC Villas are Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek.

🛌 Accommodations: Standard rooms sleep 4 guests (plus a toddler), and Deluxe rooms accommodate 5 guests (plus a toddler). 1-3 bedroom villas can accommodate 4-12 guests. Copper Creek Cabins have 2 bedrooms that sleep up to 8. Wilderness Lodge also has a club level.

💵 Price: Standard & Deluxe rooms start at $480 per night, 2 bedroom villas start at $730.

🚶‍♀️Walking Distance: everything is within a walkable distance, from the bus area to the dock to catch a boat to Magic Kingdom, Fort Wilderness, or the Contemporary Resort.

🚌 ⛴ Transportation: buses to all parks; boat to Magic Kingdom

🍔🍕 Dining:

• Roaring Fork (quick service option that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner)

• Geyser Point (quick service option that serves lunch and dinner)

• Storybook Dining at Artist Pointe (table service option that is a character dining experience with Snow White, the Evil Queen, D***y, and Grumpy.)

• Whispering Canyon (a Western theme and barbecue fare where the servers love to play jokes and games with those dining there. Make sure you ask for the ketchup 😉)

💦🏊 Pools: The main pool, Copper Creek has a large slide carved out from a giant boulder, a whirlpool, and a kiddie play area with two slides (my daughter’s favorite part of our entire trip). The second pool, Boulder Ridge is much quieter and is for DVC members only.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Villas🍦

This resort gives all the vibes of an early 1900s Atlantic Boardwalk🎠!

🏨 Location: EPCOT🌐 area Crescent Lake is straight across from Yacht and Beach Club

🗺 Size: 378 rooms that are 371 sq ft.

🛌 Accommodations: Lots of sleeping options here between the Inn and the villas! Standard rooms sleep up to 5, 1-3 bedroom villas can sleep up to 12 people

💵 Price: Standard room prices start at $584, 1-3 bedroom villas start at $775 per night

🚌 🚠 Transportation: Bus, boat to Hollywood Studios, walk to Epcot or HS, Skyliner access at Epcot

💦🏊 Pools: There are three pools available: two smaller pools the larger carnival-themed pool called Luna Park, aka the Clown Pool🤡. the coaster setup and all the twists and turns look pretty fun! You'll find whirlpools at each of the pools and the "Luna Park Crazy Play Area" for the littles by the main pool.

🍔🍕 Dining: There are so many Dining options on the Boardwalk including the following

•Belle Vue Lounge (light breakfast options/coffee bar in the morning, full bar in the evening)

•BoardWalk Deli (sandwiches deli favorites)

•BoardWalk Ice Cream (ice cream shop!)

•BoardWalk Bakery (bakery treats, coffee, espresso offered all day!)

•Trattoria al Forno (table service, Italian fare for breakfast and dinner)

•Flying Fish Cafe (signature dining, seaDining, and land-based Dining options)

•Big River Grille and Brewing Works (table service, gourmet burgers, microbrews and ales)

Disney California Adventure is probably one of my favorite parks between both Disney World and Disneyland!

Just like Disneyland it is more laidback! Since we were staying at a Disney property we were able to get into the parks 30 minutes before other guests. The first day we were able to walk on Incrdicoster two times, ride Toy Story Mania and get coffee before, and take pictures before the crowds picked up!

My favorite area was Cars Land. The amount of detail that Disney put into this land is incredible. It is even more breath taking at night and honestly feels like you are in the movie! Also the ride is so much fun!

There were so many great food options! My favorite place was The Lamplight Lounge not only did we get an incredible view at both super and brunch the food I had and tried was delicious!

My 2 favorite rides were Incredicoster and Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout! I love Tower of Terror but Guardians beat it hands down! However, one ride I will never ride again is the Pixar Pal Around Ferris wheel or at least the swinging gondolas😳!

Again I loved how the characters were out and about and just stopped to take pictures whenever asked!

The nighttime show World of Color was beautiful and 100% recommend making time to see if you go to Disneyland but make sure to get a seat towards the front to get the best view!

This is a longer post because you get a 2-for-1 with these resorts!

⚓️ Yacht and Beach Club⛱

🏨 Location: EPCOT🌐 area on Crescent Lake.

🗺 Size/🛌Accommodations/💵Price

•Beach Club Rooms/Club Level 🏖: about 580 rooms starting. Standard rooms with different views, club level, and suites are available! Standard rooms typically start at $580 and sleep up to 5 people. Suites can accommodate up to 7 people. There are mini-refrigerators available in each room.

•Beach Club Villas 🏝: same resort, just in a separate building. The check-in process is the same; these are bookable through Disney depending on availability. There are studios (sleep up to 5, includes a kitchenette, prices start around $550), 1-bedrooms (sleep up to 4, includes fully stocked kitchen and washer/dryer, starts around $790), and 2-bedrooms (sleep up to 8, fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, two bedrooms, and two full baths, and start around $1,220)

•Yacht Club Rooms⚓️: about 630 rooms starting at 381 sq ft. Very similar to Beach Club rooms, different decor. Standard rooms with different views, and club level are available! Standard rooms typically start at $550 and sleep up to 5 people. There are mini-refrigerators available in each room.

🚶‍♀️Walking Distance: Within walking distance of Epcot and the BoardWalk

🚌 🚠 Transportations: Skyliner🚡, bus 🚌 , boat⛴ to Hollywood Studios, can also walk 🚶to EPCOT or HS

💦🏊 Pools: The feature pool is called Stormalong Bay, it's one of the coolest setups! It has sand (or something just like sand😉... made to be pool filter friendly). There are beach areas around the pool, a sand bar in the pool (perfect kiddie play area!), and sections of the pool actually have a sandy bottom. Plus, there's a lazy river! The slide is accessed by climbing a pirate 🏴‍☠️ ship and actually carries riders over a walking path. There are also smaller slides available that start on a lower level of the ship and exit into a kiddie pool. You’ll find three smaller pools, too: one closer to the Yacht Club, and two at Beach Club (one is located next to the building with the Beach Club Villas). There are whirlpools in each one of the pool areas👏🏻🙌🏻.

🍔🍕 Dining: Lots of options between these two resorts!😋

•Yachtsman Steakhouse (Top notch steakhouse at Yacht Club)

•Beaches and Cream (50s style restaurant, burgers, fries, huge ice cream sundae!),

•Cape May Cafe (character breakfast buffet, seaDining buffet for dinner (no characters at dinner),

•Ale & Compass (American cuisine and sea dining, open breakfast/lunch/dinner).

•Beach Club Marketplace (grab snacks, quick meals, refill mugs),

•Hurricane Hannah's Waterside Bar and Grill (next to Stormalong Bay, Dining/bar/mug station),

•Market at Ale & Compass (similar to Beach Club Marketplace).

•Martha's Vineyard, Crew's Cup Lounge

•You can also easily walk to locations at BoardWalk and Swan & Dolphin

There are so many things that I love about Disneyland. There is definitely a more intimate feel here.

I LOVE that you can walk everywhere without having to give yourself so much extra travel time. Not having to rely on buses or other forms of transportation to get anywhere was amazing! It is much more laid back and relaxed. Not having to worry about rain and the humidity is super nice, too.

In my opinion, the rides that Disneyland and Disney World have in common are better at Disneyland. Big Thunder Mountain was tons better! It’s a Small World had Disney movie characters throughout and my kids loved looking for them in each area.

Characters were out and about and were willing to take pictures with you as they walked past. The parade was great and had some rare characters and some classics!

Using Genie+ was so much easier here and it was nice that I was able to add it to my tickets when I bought them and didn't have to worry about paying it the day of. There were lightning lanes available for most of the ride all day long. Rise of the Resistance didn’t sell out right away. One thing that I wasn't a big fan of is that due to spacing they don't have room for lightening lane lines so they don't have as many Genie+ selections as WDW. Also, a lot of the line queues are outside without much shade away from the sun and it can get very hot.

The fireworks show wasn't my favorite and was definitely no Happily Ever After but was still good. It was a Pixar themed show for Pixar Fest and featured a bunch of Pixar movies.

Now, the castle was seriously underwhelming and didn't give me those magical feelings like it does when I walk into Magic Kingdom.

Disney’s Genie+ 🧞‍♂️ is getting replaced tomorrow with Lightning Lane Multi Pass ⚡️

It’s a combination between the previous Fastpass tiered system and Genie+.

Up first from my trip to Disneyland...The resort! We stayed at the Grand California which is 1 of the 3 Disney properties.

Pros:
--I loved that it was so close to both parks. It had its own security entrance into both Disneyland and California Adventure. From our room on the 5th floor to the entrance of either DL or DCA was maybe a 5-6 minute walk.

--It is a beautiful resort and gave me Animal Kingdom Lodge/Wilderness Lodge vibes!

--The standard rooms fit up to 5 adults, which was a nice surprise because there aren't many resorts at Disneyworld that can accommodate 5 adults.

--Since it is a Disneyland resort you get access to early entry hours which are a half hour before the park opens. Since the parks are smaller you can get a lot accomplished in that time.

Cons:
--Disneyland only has 3 on-property resorts and I would consider them all Deluxe resorts. They don't have the 3 different categories for prices like Disney World, so they have a higher price tag.

--I love over the top theming at Disney resorts to me that is what makes it feel like Disney (maybe it's because we typically stay at the value resorts at WDW) but this resort didn't give me the same Disney vibes.

Just got back last night from Disneyland and it is such a different vibe from Disney World! It is a lot more laid back and we could go with the flow a lot more! Over the next few days I will share some of the pros and cons with you but what questions do you have for me about Disneyland!

First up out of the deluxe resort and villas is

This resort is themed after the 1880s Victorian Upstate New York Lakeside Retreat famous for spas and horse racing. If you’re looking for a beautiful, quiet, and serene resort with a golf course and spa on the property and also close to Disney Springs, this resort would be perfect for you!

🏨 Location: Disney Springs area (you can walk right over!!)

🗺 Size: 1260 rooms plus 60 three-bedroom Treehouse Villas

🛌 Accommodations: Saratoga Springs also has a DVC property. You can find a variety of rooms that will accommodate from 4-12 people!

💵 Price: $400-$3000 per night

🚶‍♀️Walking Distance: it is a MASSIVE property. Internal buses run that can take you all around the resort (5 stops total!)

🚌 ⛴ Transportation: buses to all parks; boat to Disney Springs

🍔 Food: The Artist’s Palette is located in the main building at Disney’s Saratoga Springs resort and features breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It also houses a market for quick grab-and-go items. The Paddock Grill is another quick service option that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Turf Club Bar and Grill is the only true sit-down restaurant at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. You can also walk or take a boat over to Disney Springs to eat!

💦🏊 Pools: 5 total--the main pool, High Rock Spring Pool, features the main swimming pool with a zero-depth entry, a small kiddie slide, a larger ‘big kid’ water slide, a Donald Duck splash pad, waterfall features, and a hot tub! The second pool feature pool, the Paddock pool, boasts a twisty, turny slide that is 146 feet in length, a children’s splash area with kid-sized water slides, and a horseshoe-shaped hot tub. The remaining 3 pools are also named after the areas of the resort they are found in.

🚨 Major Changes Coming to Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane on July 24: New Names and Pre-Booking Options 🚨

Starting July 24, Walt Disney World and Disneyland will introduce the following name changes (operational changes will only apply to Walt Disney World, with no changes to Disneyland):
- Disney Genie+ will be renamed Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
- Individual Lightning Lane will be renamed Lightning Lane Single Pass.

⚡️Lightning Lane Multi Pass: This pass allows up to 3 advance selections in a theme park, letting you choose times and experiences before purchase, ensuring you know what you're getting. On the day of your visit, once you redeem a Lightning Lane selection, you can book your next one.
- LL Multi Pass will have 2 groups (tiers) at Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT - choose 1 from first group, 2 from second group; no groups at Animal Kingdom.
- Times and selections for the Multi Pass can be modified.

⚡️Lightning Lane Single Pass:This pass will function similarly to the current Individual Lightning Lane, applying to the same high-demand attractions (subject to change) but can be planned and purchased in advance.

⚡️Pre-Booking Details:
- Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels, including the Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green, can book Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance for their entire stay, up to 14 days.
- All other guests can book passes up to 3 days in advance.
- Both Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass can be purchased in a single transaction.

⚡️Park Hopper with Lightning Lane Multi Pass:
- Initially, make up to 3 selections at the park where you purchase your pass. Once you redeem your first selection, you can make additional selections at any park, subject to availability.

Pricing will continue to vary by date as it currently does.

This party takes place at Magic Kingdom on select nights in November and December! Tickets go on sale July 2 for resort guests!

And back by popular demand is Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios in November and December as well!

Before we start into deluxe resorts and deluxe villa resorts... let's talk about what it takes to be one✅! If you've stayed at any of the resorts in these categories, let me know😊... we'll be looking for you guys on each resort post as well!🤗

🌟 What makes a deluxe, deluxe?

• rooms are typically larger than those at value and moderates

• more transportation options

• more luxurious accommodations

• more amenities (some have spas, health clubs, etc) and immersive experiences (like the Savannah at Animal Kingdom Lodge, or the Boardwalk experience at Boardwalk Inn)

• more options for dining (especially table service)

💫 What are deluxe villas??

• share the same amenities as deluxe resorts

• dedicated villa resorts are Old Key West and Saratoga Springs

• villa rooms available at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club, Boardwalk, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and Wilderness Lodge.

• villas are studio, one-bedroom, or two bedroom suites

Up next… the last of the moderates! Caribbean Beach Resort! If you stayed here, I'd love to hear your thoughts 😁

Caribbean Beach was WDW's first moderate resort and is located in the, making it the perfect spot for the main hub of the Skyliner

🏨 Location: EPCOT🌐 area
🗺 Size: Split into 5 villages (Aruba, Jamaica, Barbados, Martinique, and Trinidad). There are 2109 rooms that are 340 sq ft.
🛌 Accommodations: Sleeps 4 guests plus a toddler. Some rooms sleep 5 plus a toddler. They have both pirate and Little Mermaid themed rooms
💵 Price: $290-$460. Views, preferred locations, and pirate rooms can add to the cost.
🚶‍♀️Walking Distance: Large and spread out resort, so it can be a far walk from the furthest rooms to the main food and pool area.
🚌 🚠 Transportation: buses to all parks and the SKYLINER to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios! Also has internal buses for getting around the resort.
🍔🍕 Food: Sebastian's Bistro 🦀 (table service), Centertown Market (food court/quick service), and Spyglass Grill (small quick service option near Trinidad pool).
💦🏊 Pools: Each village has its own small pool and white sand beach area! Plus, there's the big Fuentes del Morro pool located at Old Port Royale (the main building). The main pool includes a water slide, a kiddie pool, and a whirlpool.

If you’re looking for a resort with southwestern flair and Spanish influence, then Coronado Springs is for you! Coronado Springs also has a convention center and a club level (the only Moderate resort to have one!) Try to book a room in Gran Destino Tower facing Hollywood Studios and catch the fireworks each night! 🎇🎆

🏨 Location: Animal Kingdom area 🦁

🗺 Size: 1,912 rooms + the new addition, Gran Destino Tower with 15 stories and 500+ rooms

🛌 Accommodations: standard rooms sleep up to 4; family suites sleep up to 6 (each suite has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchenette); club level is located in Gran Destino Tower with standard rooms and suites.

💵 Price: $250-$425 per night for regular room

🚶‍♀️Walking Distance: The resort is spread across a 15 acre lake so be prepared for some walking from the main buildings to the pool area

🚌 Transportation: buses to all parks; internal buses for getting around the resort

🍔🍕 Food: quick service--”El Mercado de Coronado” food court serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Average meal price is $14.99 and under for adults. The food court is shared with the conference center so there is potential for long lines. Has 3 table service restaurants. Table service restaurants which include: Toledo, a tapas, steak, and seafood restaurant at the top of Gran Destino Tower with spectacular views of all of Walt Disney World, Maya Grill, which is open for dinner only, and Three Bridges Bar and Grill which serves sandwiches, shared plates, salads and more at it’s relaxing lakefront location.

💦🏊 Pools: main pool, the Dig Site, features a Mayan pyramid, slide, whirlpool, and kiddie pool. Each guest room area also has a small pool.

⭐️⭐️ A quick note on club level: staying at club level gives you access to food and drink when the club is open and you can also pay for premium Fastpass+ reservations (90 days out!) if you’re staying at club level.

We are heading to Disney again!!! This time it will be a Girls ONLY trip! It will be a much more laid-back trip than we normally do and we have no plans set in stone! Our first moderate brings us to the bayou of the Sassagoula River…and with the Florida humidity, you will for sure feel in Louisiana!

Port Orleans Resort - Riverside (POR)💚💙!

🗺 Size: As a moderate room the rooms are bigger measuring 314 sq ft. There are 2047 rooms with a variety of themes (Mansion, Bayou, Royal Guest Rooms); a l

🛌 Accommodations: standard rooms sleep up to 4; Bayou rooms sleep 5 plus an infant.

👑Room Extras: The Royal Guest rooms are a fun upgrade. The price is higher, but the decor is great! The Royal Guest rooms have fiber optic headboards!

💵 Price: $300-$530 per night (Royal Guest higher price)

🚶‍♀️Walking Distance: Large & spread out resort so it can be a far walk from the further rooms to the main food and pool area.

Shares a table service restaurant, Boatwright’s Dining Hall with its sister resort, Port Orlean-French Quarter. There is also pizza delivery for room service as well. You can also catch a water taxi over to Disney Springs to catch a bite to eat over there!

💦🏊 Pools: 5 small pools and a main pool with slide and kiddie pool. You can also use the pools at Port Orleans French Quarter!

Disney offers a discount for a future stay at one of their resorts if you book it within 7 days of your checkout! That’s what they call their “bounce back” offer. It is valid for select dates and they just released them for 2025.

Here are the valid dates for the bounce-back offer in 2024 & 2025:

2024:
May 27 - August 29
September 2-30
October 27-31
November 25-27
December 1-24

2025:
January 2-8, 13-16, 20-23, 26-30
February 2-6, 9-13, 16-19
February 23 - May 22
May 26 - July 2
July 7 - August 28
September 1-30
October 26-31

November & December 2025 have not been released yet.

Can you name this ride!! The graphics on this ride are absolutely breathtaking but it makes me so nauseous. I took this video while closing my eyes through the whole thing! Do any rides make you feel this way?

The dance party and character interaction were awesome at the Glow party! They also danced with Goofy but I was riding down the lazy River with Lilly so I missed it!
