Alert! Alert! WE HAVE PAVING! WE HAVE PAVING!

We told you Ed and his team were kicking it. Fewer than two weeks to go!!

This requires donuts.

Happy Week 23 of bridge construction! Please note that our footprint has gotten wider, as we make sure the new bridge has a new road wirh which to connect. Ed and his Kicking It Crew were working in the heat, the rain (and the lightning- really guys?!), making sure our bridge WILL be done soon!

Friends, it is Week 20.
Damn.
Ed and his crew are beyond kicking it; they are coming in and leaving in the dark, and working weekends, to get this project wrapped up and our bridge reopened.
Let's look, shall we?
(Spoiler alert- they poured concrete today!)

Week 15 Recap, and Ed and his crew are, of course, kicking it. Bigger holes in the road and more gravel to dump will soon equal better infrastructure for the bridge, and Ed tells me we will be back on schedule by the end of this week (thanks to their kicking it mentality, natch. Seriously though- they have been working around the clock and around raindrops to get back on target, in this stupidly hot weather. Thanks, guys!)

We had some technical glitches last week, so while I took these pictures today, I'm still calling it Week Thirteen (even though we are in Week Fourteen). Rain today meant an empty work site, so pictures today were the same as what would have been taken over the weekend, except sunnier!

Kicking off Week Eight (Month Two!) with our Week Seven Recap. Some sweet highlights- Ed and his crew found a sandstone dated 1875, which tells us this bridge has been around for much longer than we thought! Also, said crew is kicking it. And, we celebrated .

I know I say this every week, but Ed and his team? Killing. It.
A LOT happened last week, otherwise known as Week Six. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

(Spoiler alert- the bridge is not there!)

Let's kick off Week Five, aka Month Two, with a wrap up from Week Four!
Ed and his crew have been BUSY this week, working in the rain (!!), and the heat (!!), to keep our project moving forward.

This is also a great place to answer Gene's question from last week- we ARE replacing the bridge, not just shoring up what we currently have. This is part of what makes the timeline so extended- Ed and his crew have to take down the bridge and shore up the sides while they rebuild the new bridge. Some of this week's pictures should help show that.

Have a great week all, and no, you still can't get to Main Street from here. Tell your friends. Please.

My most sincere apologies thay our Week Three Wrap up is happening part of the way into Week Four! Last week was a little light (see rain, Week Two), but Ed and his team are making up for lost time and installing some pretty sweet infrastructure!

Also, please, tell your friends- THERE IS NO SECRET CUT THROUGH TO MAIN STREET! Please note the gaping holes in the street. You can't drive over those!

Also, donuts.

08/05/2022

Hello friends, and welcome to our Week Two Wrapup (and Happy Mother's Day!) Work was a little light this week; rain = not much outside construction (also, lots of rain = high, fast running creek = dangerous time to be under a bridge). Nonetheless, we have updates (Ed's Adena Team = awesomeness)!!

Also, spoiler alert- there is no connection from the Chamber's parking lot to lot B. Turning into their lot will not get you around the construction. If you have gone past Wayne Savings and are not going to the Chamber, some sort of turning around is in your immediate future. Also, people work at the Chamber, and Ed and his Adena team are around there, too, so please don't run anyone over, even if you're mad because you're late and this short cut didn't happen so now you're really late and a little more mad.
Now, if you want to pull a Dukes of Hazzard and jump from the Chamber lot to lot B, please let us know, so we can get out our cameras.

Thank you!

Hello, and welcome to Week Two, Day One of Claremont Bridge deconstruction, otherwise known as Day Eight! More holes are being dug, more debris is being created (hence our newest addition- dumpsters), and, most importantly, donuts.

Days Two, Three, and Four Recap (sorry- it's been a busy week! Did you know May starts on Sunday??) Ed and Team Adena are making crazy progress. It's like when you build an epic Lego creation- that infrastructure may not be pretty, but it's gotta be steady.
Also, digging of holes.

Day One Recap:
Ed and his crew are killing it! No surprise there.
One thing that would help- these signs are for real. Going around them won't get you to where you want to go. Cutting through our parking lot, or lot B, or the municipal lot, isn't going to happen- there are people and construction and vehicles beyond these barricades, and you will run them all down if you pass these orange signs. There is no shortcut around this project- please use Washington, Walnut, Center, Broad, or something else to get to downtown.
Thank you!

22/04/2022

Our wonderful friend Renae at the Chamber made this great map of what Claremont will look like starting Monday, April 25th. Here are some key points:

* Claremont will be completely closed at the bridge (there is some confusion about lanes being open- that is at Smith Road, when the resurfacing of Claremont happens later in the summer);
* Lot B will not be accessible from Claremont (but will be accessible from Luther Street);
* South Street will not be accessible north-bound on Claremont, but will be accessible south-bound from Main Street (so, going up from AU you can't get to South Street, but coming down from Main Street you can get to South Street).

Hopefully this helps! PLEASE leave your questions with us and we will answer them as soon as we are able!
