The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

I like to think of my battered travels as the wrinkles that are starting to form on my face. As I have heard many times, those wrinkles represent wisdom. I like to think of the marks and scars as battle wombs of wisdom, great stories and exciting adventures. You always remember the stories when something went completely wrong or unexpected.

Being this is my first blog, I should provide some insight of myself. I want to be clear: I am not a writer. I apologize for my grammatical inconsistencies and failure to follow the world of ‘writers rules.’ I do not want to be one of those ‘snob’ writers that feel superior to everyone else. Nor, am I one of those ‘backpackers’ that are so in-tune with traveling and embarking on new lands/cultures. However, I do hope to entertain, tell stories, and provide valuable and honest insight to those who love to travel, are looking to travel, or just want to read something true about other countries.

I have been very fortunate to have traveled a lot in my life. There are a few reasons for this. First, my family originates from Hungary, so many summers were spent visiting family. Second, instead of buying another TV or meaningless commercial product, I used that money to travel and explore new places. Third, I completed my degree(s) in other continents to be exposed to different learning styles and instructors. I craved that international vibe where debate and passion are the driving forces of learning. I wanted to experience a classroom where not everything was structured.

My travels has many bumps and bruises that signify a new city, country and continent. I will elaborate on each of these marks and the story they all tell. I will speak of each destination and provide specific advice for all readers. I am going to be brutally honest and simple. As we all know, traveling isn’t always simple and emotions tend to escalate when you are in a foreign land; therefore, emphasizing each action or hiccup to heightened levels in helpful. This is why I am going to keep things as clear and direct as possible.
