Back in my happy place! Onboard an amazing new ship, Explora I, which has redefined ultra-luxury cruising.

Today we went sailing on a Catamaran (just a dozen of us) from St Kitts, sailed and snorkeled and enjoyed local foods and beers.

Did you know that 40% of Americans can trace their ancestors to arriving in the USA at Ellis Island? I finally made time in NYC to take a tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. A day very well spent!

My grandfather arrived from Norway here. The museums and databases are fantastic resources for anyone interested in learning more about their own family or immigrant history in America.

Jetted to SFO for a whirlwind weekend to celebrate the marriage of dear friends. The summer crush has begun! Expect long lines (2 hours for a prepaid rental car), flight delays, and reservations required everywhere. Pack your patience!

The magic of La Alhambra…a few hours is never enough to spend at this beautiful place which I first experienced over 40 years ago. A few raindrops kept the crowds away. Avoid the hot summer season and buy your timed tickets or tour well in advance.
