Large 1800s Home in the Heart of Iowa + Fireplace-Walk to Downtown & Attractions This is a ONE-OF-A-KIND vacation rental to EXPERIENCE.

Formerly owned by Railroad Tycoon, John Insley Blair, this is a 150+ years old home that was built in 1867. The same year the first railroad tracks were laid in Iowa. Immerse your stay in the Boone, Iowa experience with the added artwork, decor and charm themed with Trains, Iowa and the Midwest in this vacation property referred to as the 607 Guest House. The home’s interior has been restored to b

ring back some of its natural beauty, charm and history, while incorporating modern day conveniences like a heated bathroom floor and Zoned Central Air Conditioning System. From refinishing the 150+ years old heart pine floors to restoring the interior wood windows with functional weights & pulleys and maintaining the original lead glass window panes, it’s an ongoing process that we will continue to the exterior. We love the character and charm that "vintage" homes bring and it takes a special person to appreciate the "challenges" that they often present too, but it is rewarding to see History Come Back to Life! Living Room: Providing a cozy home feeling with 2 comfy couches, extra blankets, fireplace, Smart Roku TV, DVD player, desk and original restored 150+ year old hardwood floors. Dining Room: Large Dining Room table for 6 to join around with either a home-cooked meal or activity.

*ENJOY Cooking in a Kitchen stocked with Full-Sized appliances, including pots & pans, cooking utensils, china & paper plates, glasses, mugs, silverware, Coffee bar with Keurig & pot coffee maker and 2 bar stool breakfast nook table.

*ENJOY Off- Street Parking steps away from the front door with a motion activated security light above parking area. Additional parking available on either side of the street and at the lighted Community Parking Lot just diagonal from the 607 Guest House.

NO FINE PRINT RENTAL: Upfront House Rules:
We want you to TRULY ENJOY your experience during your stay, and would be disappointed if you didn't. That stated, no one likes unpleasant surprises, please know before booking that this is NOT a party house. We're the 607 Guest House, not Animal House. We respect our neighbors, the history of the 607 Guest House and the Boone Police Officers that don't need to stop what they're doing for the Community of Boone to unexpectedly “attend” your party. (Remember the station is only a few blocks away.) No Pets

No Smoking, Va**ng or e-cigarette of any kind inside the house or porch. No Events & No Parties, but Family Gatherings & Reunions with prior Host approval are possible. -Please just ask. Max of 8 "registered" guests. Unregistered guests are not allowed overnight or utilize amenities of the property. Additional guests over 2 persons are an additional fee per guest, per night. No added cleaning fee or administrative fees from your host. We don't want your check out total to be an unpleasant surprise either. Please text, email or call with any circumstances the Hosts should be aware of before booking. You'll want to "EXTEND YOUR STAY 1 MORE DAY."
