Calling all fishermen, fisherwomen, and parents looking for their next family fun weekend! Two days twice a year, families and friends can enjoy one of Michigan's premier outdoor activities, Michigan Fishing, for FREE!
Free Fishing Weekend dates for 2023 are: Feb. 18 and 19 and June 10 and 11. So grab your rod and your bait and head up to La Vida Loon for some fishing fun!
The Tawas area has fishing galore, regardless of the season or how much gear you have. Fishing in Tawas Bay includes walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, brown trout, and smallmouth bass.
Besides just taking a few steps from you door to fish on the beautiful Tawas Lake, you've got so many different options from riverbanks, the shore, the dock, your own boat, a charter, or the ice in winter. Don't forget to try your luck on the AuSable River, Tawas Lake, Van Etten and Cedar Lakes in Oscoda, along with a host of smaller inland lakes.
All fishing license fees will be waived for two days. Residents and out-of-state visitors may enjoy fishing on both inland and Great Lakes waters for all species of fish. All fishing regulations still apply.
