Happy Birthday to our beloved Pluto! 🎉🐶 Mickey’s faithful companion is celebrating in style today. We love to hang out with him, donning a lei, at the Best Friends Character Breakfast at the Ohana Restaurant in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Here are some fascinating tidbits about the Birthday Dog:

1. He’s one of Disney’s original characters who wasn’t given anthropomorphic traits, meaning he doesn’t talk or possess human qualities.
2. Initially, he didn’t have the name Pluto! The first name he was given was “Rover” and he was Minnie’s dog!! It wasn’t later that he became Mickey’s loyal companion, “Pluto.”
3. Pluto has starred in an impressive 48 official cartoons dedicated to his adventures.
4. Remarkably, he’s an Oscar winner! His cartoon “Bone Trouble” earned Disney an Academy Award for Best Cartoon.

Hurricane Idalia is projected to hit Florida this week and we are thinking of everyone who will be in the path as we wait to see how it unfolds. Disney World is not projected to be hit directly but is monitoring the situation while operating as usual for now. Did you know that a travel agent can help rearrange your travel plans if needed should you find yourself caught in a severe weather situation while on vacation? This happened to us last year with Hurricane Ian and my travel agent (who is one of the amazing owners of the agency I work for now!) came to the rescue and took care of everything!
As a side note……the rain at Disney is magical!
