The most asked question: When and where can we see the Salute? ✈️ 🇺🇸

Our Salute begins just north of Myrtle Beach at 1pm and continues the length of the South Carolina coast line. The F-16s will lead the way with the C-17 and warbirds following behind. We ask that you arrive early and be patient as these planes make their way to your beach! We promise: It is worth the wait!

: Myrtle Beach wants you to know how to handle rip currents – what they are, and how to escape one – now that warmer weather means more people are swimming in the ocean. Please read these tips and study the graphics, presented in both English and Spanish.

What is a Rip Current? Often called undertows, these powerful currents are formed when ocean water rushes back to sea in a narrow path. Rip currents can pull even experienced swimmers away from shore. They may vary in direction, width and speed.

Signs of a Rip Current? Rip currents may be visible as a difference in water color or a difference in the waves. A rip current may have choppier waves or an offshore area of turbid water, along with foam or objects moving steadily seaward.

What to do in a Rip Current? If you are caught in a rip current, don't panic or try to swim against the current! Stay calm, and swim parallel to the shore until you are out of the current. If you can't break out of the current, just float until it fades, then swim diagonally back to shore.
