It is so nice when you receive good reviews. The Heart of Chester Walking Tour is now on Viator (part of Trip Advisor) and can now be booked online.
The Heart of Chester Tour can also be booked through Chester Visitor Information Centre from where we have a weekly tour departing every Friday at 2pm.

A visit to Rye -Henry James the American author lived here in Rye and mentions Chester several times in his books. At the start of his novel The Ambassadors he describes a couple meandering through our city: The tortuous wall – girdle, long since snapped, of the little swollen city, half held in place by careful civic hands – wanders in narrow file between parapets smoothed by peaceful generations, pausing here and there for a dismantled gate or a bridged gap, with rises and drops, steps up and steps down, queer twists, queer contacts, peeps into homely streets and under the brows of gables, views of cathedral towers and waterside fields, of huddled English town and ordered English country. #chestertouristguude

Chester Tourist Guide is further afield - Hever Castle, Anne Boleyns family home and later the home of Anne of Cleeves. When Henry VIII fell out with the Pope and created the Church of England, he dissolved the monasteries, fortunately for us in Chester the monastery of Saint Werburgh became our cathedral. Unfortunately for Anne Boleyn, she didn't survive and was beheaded! Hever Castle - later became the grand home of the ‘Rags to Riches’ Astor family - William Waldorf Astor, the richest man in America when he moved to England.
