Monster Queensland Grouper, caught and released on the Pennefather River in Cape York.
🌟 Wangi Falls (infinity spa)
One of our favourite places, Zahlee, sat out on this one as there was a recent crocodile attack in July, so she wasn't game to swim across to the waterfalls. We pick our battles, and this one, we let her sit out with Nan.
Side note: the croc was captured, and the man survived. This place is always monitored, and he managed to get in with the floods back in July.
Litchfield National Park 💦 we wanted to show Nan and Pop some beautiful waterfalls in the NT, so we took them to some of our favourite. Todd, Axel, Zahlee, and I have been to the NT a few years back, so coming back to these beautiful places was a bonus, especially with my mum and dad.

Happy Fathers Day Dad, thank you for taking us on the trip of a life time 🤍 our kids don't know how lucky they are to have you, and travel this country with you every day for 269 days 🤗 life is what you make it, and you make it pretty bloody good, I must say! Pardoo roadhouse and Pardoo station are closed due to category five cyclone🌀 Ilsa, wiping out the lot back in April this year 💔
Back to the beaches and beautiful sunsets 🌅
Two nights in Port Hedland to stock up on food, fuel, new tyres, loads of washing, McDonald's😋 wash the red dirt off the car and van, and anything else we could think of.
Kids loved hunting for crabs again 🦀 tiny blue crabs.
Early morning dip in the very refreshing water, but so worth it!
Thank you Karijini you have been incredible and will hold a special place in my heart. 🤍 definitely a favourite and again a must visit.
We are back on the road again for a 4-hour trip to Port Hedland 🚗

Sorry! I've fallen so far behind on posting. We have just completed the biggest part of our trip and have enjoyed every minute of it. The posting just came to a stop while we were on the GRR.
I'll do my best to catch up over these next few days as we are driving a lot.

Hamersley Spa Pool 💫
An oasis hidden in the middle of the desert, with an easy short walk to this magic spot.
Picture is not mine, but this is exactly what it looks like with sun shining down on it. We visited in the afternoon, and it was in the shade and is still amazing.
You need to see it... can't even explain it! 🪄
Before this trip, our kids were worried about leaving their friends behind. I can say travelling Australia our kids have made more friends than they can count on two hands. Friends they will have for a lifetime, and it's so good watching the new friendships form. So Blessed 💫
100 Days chasing the sun 🌞
Day 1, our friends were leaving us to head home tomorrow, so we quickly did all the lookouts with them. In the arvo, we did Dales gorge rim walk with them and the rest of dales gorge on our own (next post)

Swimming with the Whalesharks was a non-negotiable one for me, even when it cost us double cause I got the dates wrong 😭 I'd pay twice the price to do it again. Something I will never forget and something that should be on everyone's bucket list 💙 They are so beautiful to watch 🐋
What a birthday to remember 🥳 The day we started the Gibb River Road! Our whole trip was planned just to do this iconic road and here we are. 👏 Happy is an understatement!
Woke up to gifts from our travelling family 💕 spent the day exploring with my babe's, lunch at the pub and met up with friends from back home who are also travelling. Sarah cooked me a yummy curry for dinner 👌

P.s got the best ever gift from my babe's... A trip with Daddy to the iconic Horizontal falls, nothing can top that. So greatful 💖 I feel like the luckiest girl alive...
💡Vlamingh Head Lighthouse💡
Watching all the humpback whales migrate 🐋 so many.
Panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and the Ningaloo Reef, you can see the World War II radar station and anti-aircraft positions. The Harold E Holt Naval Communication Station is 13 very low frequency towers, which are some of the largest towers in the southern hemisphere. (See if you can find them in one of the pictures)

🌊 EXMOUTH 🌊
We have been looking forward to arriving in this beautiful slice of paradise. The weather was 🌞 but only around 20°c the whole week we were there. (When it's normally in the 30s)
We had familiar faces from back home living in the same caravan park we were staying in, which was nice to catch up with, and Zahlee had a school friend to hang out with. Lots of BIG things are happening for us in Exmouth 👏
We enjoyed a beautiful walk along the rim of the Gorge. Spotted some fruit bat's, rock wallabies, and termite mounds. You can enjoy a boat ride through the gorge, but we wanted to get to Exmouth, so we gave it a miss.
The sunsets here just blow my mind. You are beautiful Winderabandi, just wish we had more time in the sun to snorkel but that's OK we still have lots of time for that.

Back to visit the Fern Pool for a quick dip in the cold water. Finally convinced the kids to jump in, but Harlow wasn't keen, so she stayed on the step with the nice ladies that cheered Axel on to help him jump in. It was absolutely beautiful behind the waterfall, and somehow, the water was warmer under it, too. Day 2, Part Two. Weano Gorge, handrail pool, Hancock Gorge, and Kermits Pool. I didn't want to miss out this afternoon, so i went in with Todd but chose the wrong one to star in 🥶 handrail pool was by far the coldest water in Karijini and when I say coldest it was bone chilling cold. (It hurt) There was no chance the kids were jumping in. We crawled our way over and around the very slippery rocks to some beautiful hidden spots, so it was worth it. Todd did try piddy back me some of the way. I'm not sure how he did it. I've never felt water so cold. Gosh!!! I could live beside this place and explore it every day. 🌊 prior to this trip, both Todd and I were not fans of the beach, but our minds were changed while spending so much time on the West Coast (beach camps). The SS Mildura was a cattle steamer, wrecked in 1907 during a cyclone. Most of the remains were salvaged and used for renovations, and the hull was used for bombing practice in World War II. After our snorkelling session at five finger reef we headed into Coral Bay to have lunch and cake for Axel's birthday as he was promised once we were with friends 🎂 we visited the shops and brought new snorkel gear then headed back to camp. Had a fire, and kids were keen for bed after our massive day. 😴 what a great time we had at 14 Mile Beach. We decided to take the adventurous tracks to five finger reef for a snorkel with everyone and a cross to Coral Bay for lunch, then back to camp. This was a big hill, not that it looks it. Todd needed two attempts at it as he didn't get a good run up the first time. This made us laugh 🤣 turns out the river is an upside down river, so it flows under the ground and only flows above ground 2-3 times a year for a couple of weeks at a time. Hmm... should probably read these things and not just the name (River Retreat) 🤦♀️ oops! What a spot! DHI private beach front with a huge tent, that's living... Thanks, Tommy and Mandy, for inviting us to crash your last night on the island. It made for an awesome first night for us. Monkey Mia 🐬 the dolphin resort, the kids absolutely loved this place. Loads of friendly dolphins that come and go as they please, they feed them every morning, and we were lucky enough to get up very close to them. We had lots of emus come to play and even an echidna the kids found. Dinner at the pub each night with friends we made was a treat and the kids enjoyed the pools and riding around the resort on buggies. Such a beautiful secluded place to visit. Meeting the Seal 🦭 This started off with an old man feeding some fish to the seal when I decided to hope in the water fully clothed 🥶 so I could capture this amazing experience. Slowly but surely, the rest of the family joined me and even our friends back home who were on the phone to Todd got to the seal too, as you can see the water is crystal clear. One week spent parked up at our mates place in WA, what a great time we all had.
