Qui, ce trovi la gente più sincera che dice pane ar pane e vino ar vino co’ parola romana, quella vera parlata da ‘gni bôn Trasteverino.

La sera quanno er sole è tramontato l’ômo maturo passa all’osteria a bevesse er bicchiere guadagnato, passanno quarche ora in alegria.

Mentre li giovenotti forti e belli, canteno a le ragazze li stornelli.

Poi ce stanno le picchie, belle môre, che pareno reggine de bellezza, e pure zitte parleno d’amore, perché lo sguardo loro è ‘na dorcezza.

Missing the beautiful Lungotevere🏞
~Riverside boulevard~

Lungotevere is Rome’s main boulevard.
It was built shortly after Rome became capital of Italy (1870) along the Tiber river, from ponte Mazzini to ponte Garibaldi. The river was also dammed, building retaining walls, due to frequent floods who would cause Trastevere’s inhabitants to live in precarious conditions.
The Lungotevere is a beautiful place to go for a walk, and it offers breathtaking views of the river and its nearby pearls : Saint Angelo bridge / castle, the Tiber island and Saint Peter’s cupola.
If you walk along this boulevard, you won’t get lost, as it is a convenient way to reach the Vatican 🇻🇦 In case you aren’t familiar with internal routes.

Trastevere’s secret corners.
Its Ivy-hung , ochre-brownish buildings, the noises of its narrow alleys and a friendly atmosphere are what makes this neighborhood special to me.
