History Buff? Civil War enthusiast? While staying at Robin’s Nest, visit the New Market Battlefield and Museum of the Civil War! The Battle of New Market is mostly known for the only time military cadets were ordered into battle, with several VMI cadets losing their lives fighting for the Confederates. Their story is even told in the 2014 movie “Field of Lost Shoes.” Visit the museum and battlefield with numerous walking trails, original structures, and even two scenic overlooks of the Shenandoah River!
